When and where did you start playing poker?

Well though I started or learnt playing poker way back in 2005-06, when I was doing my Masters in Nottingham, it was not until the recent past when I really started understanding the game. In Nottingham, I had a few German friends who used to play this game and they taught me the rules, we started playing with 2 pound buy-ins.

Tell us a bit about your online poker journey.

I think like most of the players I started by playing on Zynga poker, but it was the fascination about the game that made me look for more, I met Shashwat and Kanishka, who guided me with what and where I should be playing and it’s their guidance that has got me to win my first big tourney online.

Take us through your journey playing The REMONETIZER. What were some of the highlights? When did you know you were poised to win it?

The journey had a lot of ups and downs, initially I tried my luck, but after the rebuy I got into my senses, started playing premium hands, most of the time I was an above average stack, there were times when I was the chip leader, mostly among the top 5 stacks, I had fallen after losing an all-in hand with 10’s over Queen-Jack, at that time there were approximately 15-16 players and which made me a short stack, from there I just wanted to take it one hand at a time, once I reached the final table (shortest stack) I just wanted to play it a little slow, very soon I was among the top 5 and then I thought let’s just ship it, and then I did!

How has your experience been on PokerHigh.com?

I have been playing on Poker High for some time now and the action and quorum are superb, and now that they have started doing such tournaments there would be more traffic flowing in.

When and where did you start playing poker?

I got introduced to this beautiful game of poker in 2010 when I was in college. I used to play with my friends then. After the launch of adda52.com I started playing online and tried to learn as much as I could to better myself overtime. I started following YouTube videos and few articles from whatever source I could find. Discussion with peer-poker buddies helped me improve my game.

I believe learning never stops and hence I try improving bit-by-bit each day. This way, I hope I will achieve my dream to play and run deep in WSOP main event someday. (Big smile)

Tell us a bit about your online poker journey.

I mostly play on online poker clients. Initially I used to play only on adda52.com wherein I used to play tournaments (the daily one’s and few of IOPC series one’s). But soon I got introduced to other poker clients like TheSpartanpoker.com, PokerBaazi.com, PokerHigh.com, PokerNinja.com etc.

All of them are good sites with some huge GTD tournaments, which is perfect for someone like me who enjoys online poker a lot. I started playing on each one of these sites and cashed many events, to name a few, I shipped Sunday Big Game (10LGTD) on Spartan, cashed Sunday SuperStack event (600K GTD) many times, Cashed in SSS events and IOPC events and many more (could not remember all to be honest). I stood 1st in Monthly Tournament leaderboard for TheSpartanPoker.com.

And of course, my recent win in REMONETIZER is a special one to me.

Take us through your journey playing The REMONETIZER. What were some of the highlights? When did you know you were poised to win it?

I registered a bit late in REMONETIZER because I like it that way. Initial phase of 1 hour was pretty passive because of my dry run. I lost chips initially but thanks to pretty good blind structure, which gave me ample opportunity to fold, I made my way to mid-stage tournament. Till mid stage, I mostly waited for premium hands to put my chips in. In mid-stage, one hand, which I remember, which gave push to my stack was when I had Ace-Queen under-the-gun with 29 big blinds effective and I made it to 3x, and some-one (a LAG) shoved 25 big blinds from cut-off position to which I tank-called and he showed me 66 and river A came to my rescue. After this hand, I again went to TAG mode. And in late-stage when I won a flip with my Ace-King beating opponent’s Pocket Jacks, I was almost sure I was making it in-the-money.

In late stages I was mostly among the top 3 positions. So, I was sure to hit this one but when exactly top 3 were left, I lost major stack on a flip when I had pocket seven’s and I raised to 2x at a player in dealer position vs Vinay BK’s King-Eight (re-steal shove) from BB which I snap called but he hit his King and I lost the flip. Somehow, I recovered from that position and made it to top 2, wherein I had to face 4:1 chip leader guy who busted Vinay BK in 3rd position by then.

I tried for long but eventually had to satisfy myself with 2nd position. The kind of guarantee offered plus the Last Man Standing contest made my day.

How has your experience been on PokerHigh.com?

I have played on many online poker clients and I know it becomes shove-fest at late stage for most of them where blind climbs at a very rapid rate. But not on Poker High, here I got ample opportunity to fold and I could wait for premium hands for a longer time, which is suited for my kind of play.

Slow blind structure-deep tournaments are my favorite. Plus, I liked the smooth User Interface of the site. I played there for very first time in REMONETIZER and totally enjoyed the experience. Looking forward to play more and more on Pokerhigh.com. Also, the site is run by most respected members of Indian Poker Community, which makes it more convenient for me to continue on the site and recommend it to others more and more. Kudos to Poker High Team for conducting such a good-structured tournament. Hoping for more similar structure- tournaments in near future.

When and where did you start playing poker?

As many others, I started playing this fascinating game on Zynga poker in the year 2010 and then moved to PokerStars for a while before playing my first LIVE tournament in December 2011 IPC Main Event where I finished 10th.

Tell us a bit about your online poker journey.

I have put a lot of online volumes early on PokerStars with not much scores, worked on my game in the last couple of years more seriously and have had a few good scores and deep runs both in PS and on some Indian sites. Recently been playing a lot on the Indian sites, as there are some really good value tournaments every day and specially the weekends.

Take us through your journey playing The REMONETIZER. What were some of the highlights? When did you know you were poised to win it?

REMONETIZER tournament was one tourney I was looking forward to playing as it had been very well promoted by Poker High and team. I started of slowly in the tournament but doubled up about an hour into the tourney. From thereon Just kept the momentum going with picking up chips along the way. Been making a lot of deep runs off-late but was getting busted between 10-20th places. So i worked on finer details of my game to crack that stage and did well in REMONETIZER to enter the final table with 3rd in chips. As ICM was in play, waited for the right spots on the FT to climb the ladder and finally finished 3rd for 1.3 Lakhs. Very satisfied with my performance.

How has your experience been on PokerHigh.com?

Experience on Poker High was wonderful, it was my first time on the site and the UI is excellent and very smooth without any hassles. Must thank the entire team of Poker High for coming up with this tourney especially Clawin D’souza who has spearheaded as an ambassador for the site and the work everyone put in to make it a successful event.
