It was a relatively slow Wednesday for most online platforms, except Spartan Poker that is presently hosting the 22nd edition of its Spartan Super Series (SSS). With most of the tournament crowd hitting the virtual felts at Spartan Poker last night, the other operators were forced to fill in substantial overlays!
The marquee Wednesday tourney was the Spartan Poker SSS#17 Destiny ₹35 Lakhs GTD that attracted 751 entries (307 unique, 178 re-entries, and 266 rebuys), generating an awe-inspiring ₹37.55 Lakhs prize pool. Harshad ‘omglukbox’ Barve bested the field to add an impressive ₹9.76 Lakhs to his bankroll.
PokerGuru Ambassadors have been in top form lately, and adding to their increasing list of achievements, Arjanveer Singh Chadha claimed back-to-back titles yesterday. He was at his multi-tabling best as he championed both the SSS#15 Afternoon Hi-Fi ₹3 Lakhs GTD for ₹53,981, as well as 9stacks’s StackUp @8pm ₹2.5 Lakhs GTD – netting ₹65,000 in first-place prize money. He also scored in the SSS#18 Hi-Fi ₹8 Lakhs GTD (6th for ₹40,449), 6-Max Wednesday SuperStack ₹3 Lakhs GTD (15th for ₹4,887) and SSS #16 ₹2.25 Lakhs GTD (16th for ₹3,037) to cap off a very profitable online session.
Kunal ‘cvc’ Sharma was the other big winner on the site as he took down the SSS#18 Hi-Fi ₹8 Lakhs GTD for ₹1.54 Lakhs. In SSS#16 ₹2.25 Lakhs GTD, Suraj ‘OmgRATHIII’ Rathi was the last player standing, and he collected ₹49,837.
The WPT India ₹25K Big Bounty champion Sriharsha Doddapaneni was another one of the star performers on Wednesday. Doddapaneni shipped Adda52’s Maverick ₹10 Lakhs GTD, which suffered a sizeable ₹1.74 Lakhs overlay, collecting ₹2.50 Lakhs in the top prize. However, his stellar run did not stop there, as he narrowly missed claiming the title in PokerBaazi’s 6-Max Wednesday SuperStack ₹3 Lakhs GTD, finishing runner-up for ₹57,170, while Dinesh ‘htc170209’ Kukreja took down the event for ₹81,574.
Meanwhile, the signature Wednesday event on PokerBaazi – The Vegas ₹10 Lakhs GTD – suffered a marginal overlay of ₹16,000 through 325 entries (189 unique and 136 re-entries). Online regular Shashank ‘Iverson003’ Shekhar came out on top to win ₹2.20 Lakhs. Shekhar also final tabled 9stacks’ StackUp @8pm ₹2.5 Lakhs GTD, placing eighth for ₹6,875 and finished 10th in PokerStars India’s Progressive KO – 4 Max ₹2 Lakhs GTD for ₹8,774.
The other Adda52 major, Hexagram ₹2.5 Lakhs GTD, also fell short of its advertised guarantee by ₹35,240 with ‘rg912’ taking down the title and ₹71,250.
Over at PokerStars India, the Wednesday bonanza Night On Stars ₹5 Lakhs GTD just about eclipsed its guarantee, collecting ₹5.42 Lakhs in the prize pool through 271 entries (142 unique and 129 re-entries). ‘vaebhav1611’ topped the field, pocketing ₹1.03 Lakhs in the process. On the other hand, the Progressive KO – 4 Max ₹2 Lakhs GTD logged in a shortfall of ₹36,650 with Utsav ‘rannyOO6’ Taneja eventually winning the title for ₹38,057, following a heads-up chop with Rajat ‘sharabikebabi’ Sharma (runner-up for ₹32,048).
Despite a slight hiccup on October 22, Poker Dangal’s 100 Max Series has continued its stride and hosted four tournaments on October 23. Taking down the two prominent events on Wednesday were ‘kapoor’ (100 Max Event #11 ₹200K GTD for ₹40,400) and Shubham ‘UPayMyRent’ Tyagi (100 Max Event #10 ₹50K GTD PLO for ₹10,500).
