IPC Team Takes Charge of Big Daddy Poker Room in Goa

It’s safe to say now that all major poker rooms onboard casinos anchored at Mandovi River in Goa are being managed by operators of online poker sites.

News broke out today that the India Poker Championship (IPC) team has taken over the newly launched Big Daddy poker room onboard the recently resurrected Maharaja Casino in Goa. The community insiders were aware about the rumors of a probable deal being negotiated and the IPC team that is best known for their live poker events have finally made the official announcement.

The team in question earlier operated the Deltin Royale Poker Room and exited from their role in April, 2016 handing over operations to the current business head of poker at Deltin Royale, Manish Adnani. In January 2017, the room was rebranded to Adda52 LIVE after Delta Corp acquired Gaussian Networks Pvt. Ltd., which owns Adda52.com in a deal worth about ₹155 crores and the poker room currently hosts the flagship Deltin Poker Tournament (DPT) periodically.

In similar fashion, Pride Group had bought 30% stake in online gaming site Baadshah Gaming last year resulting in the Casino Pride Poker Room getting re-branded to Baadshah LIVE poker room.

Currently, the Big Daddy casino is operating within the confines of Maharaja casino that was non-operational for nine years until Haryana politician Gopal Kanda’s Golden Globe Hotels Private Limited (GGHPL) took over the MV Domino vessel on lease for a year. The decision was made in the wake of GGHPL’s own casino vessel MV Lucky Seven getting stuck in a sandbar at the Miramar beach last year following which it was deemed unsuitable for operations.

One of the key personnel in the new management at Big Daddy is advisor of Worldwide Entertainment & Resort Pvt Ltd, Narendra Punj, who is also a casino veteran and was involved with Deltin Royale previously. He shared his excitement on the new development saying, “IPC is one of the most experienced set of individuals in the domestic poker space and have always looked to ensure a great player experience. At Big Daddy we too follow a similar philosophy and hope to offer players an outstanding gaming experience. This partnership will bode well for the future of live poker in the country.”

The key personnel in-charge of operations of the Big Daddy poker room will be Vasim Rozani who said, “We have many fond memories of Goa and our time there. We hope to provide players with as good or even better of a gaming experience when they visit the Big Daddy poker room.”

As per reports, a brand new bigger ship is currently undergoing upgrades and will soon replace the existing casino and according to sources, the new vessel is 3-4 times the size of the current one!
