What a roller-coaster Sunday it was last night! Truly imbibing the phrase “United We Stand,” the members of the social media forum “The Player Group (TGP)” continued its fight to get one of India’s leading online poker sites – Adda52 – to re-evaluate its outdated TDS policy. An all-out ban against the MTTs on Adda52 has been announced on TGP leading to the site’s Sunday major taking a hit for a second consecutive week!

Adda52’s woes helped PokerBaazi the most with its biggest Sunday tournament, Baazi Super Sunday (BSS) SuperStack ₹25 Lakhs GTD registering 586 entries (317 unique and 269 re-entries), a substantial spike from last week’s 547 entries (322 unique and 225 re-entries). But while PokerBaazi benefitted from Adda52’s fall from grace, PokerStars India failed to capitalize on the same as the site’s mainstay Sunday event – Sunday Special Progressive KO ₹15 Lakhs GTD – once again fell into the overlay territory with 286 entries (168 unique and 118 re-entries).

Though Adda52’s boycott did loom over the Sunday proceedings for the most part, it was overshadowed by the phenomenal performance of Team PokerGuru! Two PokerGuru Ambassadors who had performed brilliantly at the 50th annual World Series of Poker (WSOP), Kartik Ved and Ashish Ahuja, proved last night that they are just as good on the virtual felts!

Kartik ‘TheInternetKid’ Ved, who is also responsible for the operational side of the PokerGuru Staking stable, took down the BSS SuperStack for a gigantic payout of ₹5.53 Lakhs. Ved has previously final tabled this event several times, with the most recent finishes coming in January (1st for ₹3.43 Lakhs), February (6th for ₹81,635) and April (5th for ₹1.53 Lakhs). This past Sunday, he repeated the feat from January, defeating Vinay ‘Vinstill’ BK heads-up to clinch the title.

Fresh from his runner-up finish in DPT July’s ₹65K High Roller, Ashish ‘Spewushhhiiiii’ Ahuja once again came excruciatingly close to claiming the title but this time in the Sunday Special on PokerStars India. While he ultimately placed second for ₹1.63 Lakhs, with ‘aktion91’ bagging the title for ₹3.14 Lakhs, Ahuja also ran deep in a few other Sunday tournament. Ahuja, playing under the moniker ‘rocky3705’ finished 14th in PokerBaazi’s The Monster 6-Max ₹5 Lakhs GTD for ₹8,354.

Mithun Mahesh was another PokerGuru Ambassador in peak form this Sunday and final tabled three events. He finished runner-up in PokerBaazi’s The Monster 6-Max ₹5 Lakhs GTD for ₹97,822 and took third place in two back-to-back events on PokerStars India, namely the Sunday Stars (3rd for ₹10,782) and the Sunday Warm-Up (3rd for ₹17,660).

Meanwhile, Prabhat ‘uchichaa19’ Paliya (Sunday Stars ₹2 Lakhs GTD for ₹48,539), ‘avinash84’ (Sunday Warm-Up ₹1.5 Lakhs GTD for ₹28,642), Sreeharsha ‘DonkeyCommitted’ Boneni (Sunday Storm ₹1 Lakh GTD for ₹18,841) and ‘skynetyou’ (Sunday Supersonic ₹1 Lakh GTD for ₹18,269) shipped the other Sunday events on PokerStars India.
