Kuljinder Sidhu Claims 2016 Bellagio Cup XII For $599,440

Indian-origin player from the United Kingdom, Kuljinder Sidhu (cover image) took down the $10,400 Bellagio Cup XII Main Event, collecting a sum of $599,440, after a heads up deal with high-stakes pro Nick Schulman. Another Indian-origin pro Pratyush Buddiga made a fifth place finish for $148,177.

The win got Sidhu 1,080 Player of the Year (POY) points, to propel him to 151st place on the Global Poker Index rankings. His all-time career tournament cashes now stand at $2,266,868.

Sidhu overcame a tough final table, full of accomplished pros, including Byron Kaverman, Connor Drinan, David Peters and Liv Boeree.

Other notables who cashed were Sam Soverel (24th), Faraz Jaka (22nd), Andjelko Andrejevic (20th), Justin Young (18th), Jason Wheeler (17th), Rainer Kempe (16th), Justin Bonomo (15th), Adrian Mateos Diaz (13th), Igor Kurganov (12th) and Noah Schwartz (11th).

The 5-day Las Vegas event has been a popular one for pros and this time saw a healthy crowd of 268 entries, which created a prize pool of $2,599,600, with the top 27 finishers cashing a minimum of $23,396.
