Spain’s Lautaro Valentino Guerra Cabrerizo Takes Down Maiden Live Title in The Big Wrap PLO Main Event For €209,221 (~₹1.63 Crores)

The Big Wrap PLO Main Event of The Big Wrap PLO series was a grand success and attracted 516 entries (412 unique and 104 re-entries). Outlasting the massive field to capture his career-first live title was Spain’s Lautaro Valentino Guerra Cabrerizo (cover image) who also pocketed his best-live score of €209,221 in the process!

Cabrerizo had carried the second-biggest stack of 5,490,000 at the end of Day 2, just behind fellow countryman Juan Antonio Garcia Reverte. Cabrerizo squared off against Finnish player Lauri Sakari Varonen in the heads-up finale and bested the latter to win his first-ever live title!

 

Team India at The Big Wrap PLO Series

Team India’s Jagdeep Singh, Gaurav Gala, and Manish Goenka had featured prominently at the series. The trio was first seen in the €550 Warmup PLO event with all three challengers qualifying for Day 2, but only Singh failed to finish in the money. Gala and Goenka both scored €1,326 (₹1.03 Lakhs) for finishing 42nd and 44th respectively in the Warmup event.

The three contenders jumped into the action of the Main Event and also managed to progress to Day 2 with Singh carrying the tenth-biggest stack among the 95 survivors. While Gala and Goenka were eliminated before the money bubble burst, Singh was one of the last eliminations of the day and finished 20th for €10,677 (~₹8.37 Lakhs).

Final Day Recap

Following the eliminations of Juan Antonio Garcia Reverte (11th for €17,039), ‘G.UNI.CORN’ (12th for €14,775), Sergei Verkhoturov (13th for €14,775), Maksim Pisarenko (14th for €13,049), ‘finestraaa’ (15th for €13,049) and Ali Balci (16th for €11,755), the ten-player final table was set up.

Yves Charles M Kupfermunz (10th) was the first player to depart from the final table. He was followed to the rail by Peter Muehlbek (9th), ‘Kianator’ (8th), ‘Frex’ (7th), Ethem Tosun (6th) and Tomasz Kozub (5th).

Down to four-handed play, Lithuania’s ‘028’ busted out in fourth place and Finland’s Iisakki Viljami Ullakonoja followed him out in third place.

Lauri Sakari Varonen played Spain’s Lautaro Valentino Guerra Cabrerizo heads-up where the latter ultimately won the title and top prize of €209,221.
