20 Minutes Read
Total no.of. entries – 120
No. of players remaining – 30
Level 14 (Blinds 3,000/6,000, Ante 6,000)
All four starting flights of the Baazi Poker Tour (BPT) ₹50K Main Event are now done with and what a turnout it was! The last of the starting flights followed a turbo format with 120 entries being registered in total. This was a final chance for players eliminated on previous flights and even Day 1C that was running alongside to enter this massive event.
Day 1D started a good six hours after Day 1C at 9 pm and with 20-minute levels, the action was unsurprisingly crazy – some players went buck firing multiple bullets just to bag a stack for Day 2! End of the day only 30 among them could realize this dream of reaching Day 2 with Gangadhar Raaj bagging the largest stack of all. 35-year-old Raaj, who is a software professional and was part of the team that developed the software for partypoker, has no previous recorded live cashes to his name. He started playing poker only 10 months back, and this is the first live tournament series that he has attended. Raaj had popped his live score cherry earlier in the series with a ninth-place finish in ₹15K Kick-Off for ₹85,200 and is neatly placed to add another score to his resume having bagged a very respectable 254,500 in chips for Day 2.
Close behind Raaj is the Adda52 Team Pro Kunal Patni (228,500) with Rajesh Singh (206,000) placed third in chips.
The end-of-day tally is replete with familiar names like Pranav Bang (172,000), Ankit Jajodia (166,000), Armaan Kochhar (148,000), Muskan Sethi (139,500), Ujjwal Minocha (125,000), Akshay Nasa (120,500), Wilson Yomso (104,000), Varun Gupta (85,000), Romit Advani (74,500) and Vikram ‘Lungi Kumar (66,500).
A total of 91* survivors (3 players bagged twice) from all four starting flights will be coming together at 3 pm later today to play down to the final nine. The one player who is literally dominating the field at the moment is Day 1A (Online) chip leader Prabhat Kiran ‘Miracle; Mukherjea. He will be entering Day 2 as a massive chip leader holding 722,851 in chips – a good distance ahead of his closest competitor, Day 1C chip leader Neel Joshi (566,000) and Day 1B chip leader Gagandeep Malik (545,000).
