Rozvadov has become a prime poker destination for the Indian players, especially after The Indian Poker Series (TIPS) made its grand debut in August 2018 and returned for its second edition in March 2019.
The German Poker Days series commenced on August 26 at the Casino King’s Resort in Rozvadov, Czech Republic. The star attraction of the series, the €175 NLHE Main Event kicked off on August 29.
Day 1A registered a total number of 135 entries (109 unique and 26 re-entries), with only 19 players advancing to Day 2.
However, it was the Day 1B action that was of more interest for the Indian rail as three Indians made it through the day, namely Manish Goenka, Prashanth Sekar, and Sameer Tavanandi. While Goenka and Sekar were among the top ten stacks at the end of the day’s play, bagging 769,000 and 388,000 in chips respectively, Tavanandi too managed to secure an above-average stack of 171,000.
Artur Vartikian (957,000) topped the 19 Day 1 A survivors, while Yoav Zilberman (774,000) will headline the 52 Day 1B hopefuls to Day 2.
With three more starting flights left to play, more Indians are likely to join the action, especially names like Gaurav Gupta and Gautam Rohilla, as both players have confirmed their participation at the series through social media posts.
