Joining Addamo on the FT on Wednesday will be Justin Bonomo (1,110,000), Sean Winter (1,070,000), Alex Foxen (840,000), and Chris Brewer (380,000),
Late registrations were open on Day 2, and two players opted-in to expand the field size to 21 entries, creating a $6.30 Million prize pool. The top three places get paid with a min-cash worth $1,008,000 and $3,402,000 reserved for the winner.
Day 3 begins at 12 noon (PT) on Wednesday, September 29. The action will be streamed on PokerGO.com starting at 1 PM PT.
Addamo is chasing his third consecutive high roller title, and an SHRB VI victory tomorrow will make him Australia’s all-time winningest live tournament player. Earlier this month, Addamo had won the final two events of the Poker Masters series to claim the coveted Purple Jacket.
Michael Addamo gained the massive chip lead courtesy of a massive pot he won towards the end of Day 2 against Bill Klein, who was among the chip leaders at the time.
Klein had limp-reraised preflop with and got called by Addamo with pocket queens. Klein fired bets on all three streets as the board ran out . Klein went all-in on the river and sent Addamo into the tank. After using five time extensions chips, Addamo eventually made the call to take down the massive pot. Klein was eliminated shortly after that, bringing an end to the day’s play.
After bagging the chip lead, Addamo said, “It’s pretty unreal, that was a big hand against Bill [Klein] there, It was a crazy spot. I’m still in a bit of shock.”
“It’s a good spot for me tomorrow, it’s a big min-cash, so that’s going to be tough with all the players, but it should be good. We’ll see how we go,” he added.
