MPL Poker, the poker arm of the country`s second-largest gaming behemoth, has positioned itself as one of the dominating players in India thriving online poker sector, evidenced by the resounding success of the recently concluded India Poker Festival (IPF).
The India Poker Festival made its inaugural run on MPL poker from May 26 to June 4, and the site came out with all the bells and whistles to promote it, even dishing out its largest-ever ₹8 Crores in guaranteed prizes between the 13-event IPF series (₹4 Crores) and IPF cash game leaderboards (₹4 Crores).
MPL Poker attempted its most ambitious jump as a mainstream MTT site with the IPF MTT series, and the experiment definitely worked as 2,844 unique players joined the eight-day-long series that clocked in a total of 23,736 entries across all 13 events!
While the IPF flagships brought in poker players in droves, the cash games weren’t lacking in action either, as 46,559 unique users were on cash tables during the IPF promotion! These statistics alone prove that the IPF was an uber success.

With the IPF now in the books, the MTT action on MPL poker has not dimmed. In fact, the site has revamped its weekly flagship offerings with juicy guarantees! It`s safe to conclude that MPL Poker has well and truly announced it’s arrival as one of the top poker sites for MTT players.
India Poker Festival: Big Winners
The IPF hosted 13 tournaments, and among the winners, three deserve a special mention.
PokerGuru Ambassador Ashish Ahuja was the biggest winner of the series. On June 4, championed the showstopper ₹1 Crore GTD IPF Main Event for a whopping ₹17 Lakhs – banking the single biggest score at the series. Indu Kumari (2nd for a career-best ₹11 Lakhs) and Rahul Kumar (3rd for ₹6.50 Lakhs) secured podium finishes.
Sreekanth Narayan grabbed the second-biggest payout at the series. On May 29, the well-known online reg shipped the ₹50 Lakhs GTD IPF #5 Mini Main Event, claiming a seven-figure payday worth ₹10 Lakhs. Nangare Vinayak Baban (2nd for ₹6.05 Lakhs) and eventual IPF leaderboard topper Atrij Singhal (3rd for ₹3.80 Lakhs) locked in the top three payouts.
Rajarshi Biswas won the ₹30 Lakhs IPF #10 for a personal-best ₹7.20 Lakhs on the last day of the series. Shubham Kumar secured a runner-up payday of ₹4.80 Lakhs.
Other notable IPF title winners include Pavan Bellamkonda (Won IPF #1 ₹30 Lakhs GTD for ₹5.85 Lakhs), Young Gun Arsh Grover (Won IPF #9 ₹20 Lakhs for ₹4.20 Lakhs), Myron Pereira (Won IPF #6 ₹20 Lakhs GTD for ₹4.20 Lakhs), and PokerGuru Ambassador Mithun Mahesh (Won IPF #11 ₹15 Lakhs for ₹3.15 Lakhs).

India Poker Festival: ₹10 Lakhs GTD Leaderboard
Adding extra flair to the IPF MTT series was the ₹10 Lakhs GTD leaderboard race that kept the competition tight. Atrij Singhal, who final tabled three IPF marquees, was the eventual topper and made away with ₹3 Lakhs in leaderboard prizes. Rohit Mishra ranked second for ₹2 Lakhs, and the series-opener IPF #1 winner Pavan Bellamkonda placed third for ₹1.25 Lakhs.

Since its launch in 2019, the online poker arm of the country’s second-largest gaming company, Mobile Premier League, has made some big strides in the domestic poker circuit. The site launched MTTs on its platform on October 27, last year. And less than two weeks later, it had come out with details of its first MTT series – Steal Deal Series (November 17 to 21). Three more editions of the Steal Deal Series were hosted in December, January, and February.
Given the significant leap MPL Poker has taken with the IPF, we can hope for bigger and better things to come from the poker site in the future!
