Poker. It’s more than a game—it’s a strategic brawl, a test of nerves, where only the toughest make it out. And that proving ground has reached epic proportions at the National Poker Series India 2025. This isn’t just any tournament series; it’s PokerBaazi’s ₹100 Crore guaranteed behemoth, and it’s already blown all previous records out of the water.
They call it the “Olympics of Indian Poker,” and it’s absolutely living up to the hype. With a staggering over 170,000 entries already and ten days still left on the clock, the action is relentless. That initial ₹54.50 Crores guarantee up to this point has been obliterated, with over ₹60 Crores already paid out. But this year, there’s a whole new dimension. It’s about representing something bigger.
This year, players aren’t just playing for themselves; they’re battling for the pride of their entire state. And right now, Maharashtra is in the driver’s seat, dominating the medal count with a mighty 78 medals (24 Gold, 26 Silver, and 28 Bronze). But Delhi is nipping at their heels with 64 medals (20 Gold, 24 Silver, and 20 Bronze). Uttar Pradesh is also making a run, with 42 medals (14 Gold, 17 Silver, and 11 Bronze). This is a state-versus-state throwdown, and every medal is a battle cry.
The leaderboards –the State and the NPS Series Leaderboard – are burning up. Names like Mohit Bohra, Advait Rajguru, Vikhyat Ahlawat, Zarvan Tumboli, Anurag Srivastava, Ankit Wadhawan, Shagun Jain, Bhanu Prakash KC, Vinay Rajpal and Rising Star Aman Parakh are making big moves. A whopping 384 medals have already been awarded across 128 events. Two players are already sporting three Golds each; eight players have two Golds and over 60 players have claimed more than one medal.
But here’s where it gets really interesting. The real end game is a seat at the National Poker Champion showdown, a five-day, offline slugfest in Goa. Each state leader gets a cool ₹2 Lakhs simply for qualifying. The top 12 states on the national board will send their champion to this epic clash. It’s a winner-take-all fight for an eye-popping ₹1 Crore grand prize and the title of India’s first-ever National Poker Champion.
And it doesn’t end there. The champion also unlocks a colossal ₹1 Crore Freeroll, exclusively for players from their state. This makes the victory not just a personal achievement but a shared triumph. The road to poker greatness has never been this demanding or this rewarding.

The State Wars: A No-Holds-Barred Battle For Poker Supremacy
The battleground is set, and the fight for state bragging rights is reaching a boiling point. Across India, poker gladiators are planting their flags, determined to outdo their rivals and make poker history. The National Poker Champion (India) Leaderboard is where skill, grit, and sheer determination collide, creating some of the toughest competition the game has ever seen.
Gujarat: Mohit Bohra’s Reign of Domination
Mohit Bohra, the Gujarat-based live and online poker stalwart, is on fire. He committed to chasing the NPS India 2025 leaderboards, and the results are incredible. He’s done what many thought was impossible, playing every single one of the 128 NPS tournaments so far with an almost unheard-of 63% cash rate (cashing in 81 events!).
He’s not just participating; he’s crushing it, being the only player to have grabbed five NPS medals (three Golds and two Silvers). He’s effectively taken over the Gujarat Leaderboard, and he’s sitting comfortably at the top of the NPC (India) Leaderboard. He’s even climbed to #6 on the NPS Series Leaderboard with 22,202 points while also breaking into the top ten of PokerBaazi’s 2025 POY standings (currently at #8).
His Gold Medals were hard-earned in NPS#27 Slamdunk, NPS#92 Relay, and NPS#112 (7-Max) SPRINT. And he came agonizingly close to more, with Silver Medals in NPS#6 Marathon and NPS#45 Knockout (KO). With ₹27.28 Lakhs in total winnings so far, Bohra’s been grinding tirelessly. He’s the only player to hit 40 points on the NPC (India) Leaderboard, and he’s looking like a strong favourite to represent Gujarat in the National Poker Showdown in Goa, holding a significant lead over Bhavik Khatsuria (15 points) and Ankit Bajaj (10 points).
Karnataka: Advait Rajguru’s Triple Gold Assault
Advait Rajguru, the Bengaluru poker ace, is spearheading the Karnataka charge with a remarkable three Gold Medals – a feat matched by only Bohra so far. He’s also holding the #2 spot in the NPC (India) Leaderboard with a strong 30 points.
The 2024 POY#5 has been a winning machine, having conquered the NPS#32 (PLO-5) Megadive, NPS#48 Megadive, and NPS#113 Marathon. He’s already piled up a staggering ₹31.61 Lakhs in series winnings across a remarkable 92 cashes from all 128 NPS tournaments so far (a 72% cash rate!). His consistent excellence has earned him the #4 spot on the NPS Series Leaderboard with 22,973 points, and he’s also leading the PokerBaazi 2025 POY Leaderboard. And, adding to the excitement, Rajguru is locked in a tight battle with the equally formidable Bhanu Prakash KC, who also has 30 points (2 Gold and 2 Silver), making it a nail-biting race for the top spot on the state leaderboard between these two relentless competitors.
Uttar Pradesh: Vikhyat Ahlawat’s Strategic Ascent
Noida’s Vikhyat Ahlawat is playing the long game, dominating Uttar Pradesh’s Leaderboard and holding the #3 spot in the NPC (India) and the #7 spot in the NPS Series Leaderboards.
Ahlawat’s precise and calculated play has earned him two Gold Medals in NPS#12 Monday Marathon and NPS#29 (7-Max) SPRINT, and a Silver in NPS#123 (PLO-6) Deepdive, bringing his total series winnings to ₹27.26 Lakhs. His 21,809 points on the NPS Series Leaderboard (103 cashes from 128 events so far at an 80% cash rate) and 25 points on the NPC (India) Leaderboard, he is a major threat. However, the pressure is on, with Abhineet Singla and Nitesh Katiyar, both at 20 points, just a Gold Medal away from upsetting the current standings.
Maharashtra: Zarvan Tumboli’s Frontline Leadership
PokerBaazi Team Pro Zarvan Tumboli, a live MTT specialist, took a calculated risk by committing to the entire NPS grind—his first time playing a full online series, as he himself admitted—and it’s paying off big time. Leading the Maharashtra Leaderboard and currently #4 on the NPC (India) Leaderboard, Tumboli’s performance has been exceptional. With one Gold and three Silvers – including a remarkable three medals in the series’ first three days – he’s already earned ₹32.27 Lakhs in total winnings, giving his state a major boost in the national competition!
Tumboli’s trail of destruction began with a Gold in the NPS#6 Marathon. He continued his strong run with Silver finishes in NPS#14 (PLO-6) Megadive, NPS#20 (PLO-5), and NPS#67 Tuesday Tornado. His remarkable consistency has placed him at #14 on the NPS Series Leaderboard with 20,701 points, and he has 25 points on the NPC (India) Leaderboard.
However, given Maharashtra’s overwhelming success in the series, the competition is tight, with Gopal Bajaj (20 points) and Tarush Gupta (17 points) close behind. The state’s leaderboard topper is almost guaranteed a spot in the National Poker Champion showdown in Goa, thanks to Maharashtra’s leading position in the national standings, and it will be a thrilling contest to see which of these top players eventually makes the cut.
Delhi: Anurag Srivastava’s Calculated Aggression
An online MTT specialist, Anurag Srivastava, has taken charge of the powerful Delhi State Leaderboard and is sitting at #5 in the NPC (India) Leaderboard with 22 points. With two NPS Gold Medals and a Bronze, he’s demonstrating why he’s one of the most highly regarded players in the online circuit.
His victories in NPS#16 Megadive and NPS#74 Wednesday Volley, along with a strong third-place finish in NPS#85 (7-Max) Friday Deepstack, have pushed him to the top, bringing in ₹22.98 Lakhs in total winnings from 64 cashes in 121 events (a 53% cash rate). But Srivastava can’t afford to become complacent, as Tanmay Benara (20 points) and Ridhav Chawla (15 points) are within striking distance, with a single podium finish having the potential to shake up the leaderboard. This is a fierce competition, with the state leaderboard topper all but guaranteed a place in the National Poker Champion showdown!
Chandigarh: Ankit Wadhawan’s Steadfast Command
Ankit Wadhawan is another online player to keep an eye on. He’s leading the Chandigarh State Leaderboard and holding the #6 spot on the NPC (India) Leaderboard with 20 points. His current position at #31 on the NPS Series Leaderboard with 17,541 points makes him a contender. Wadhawan has captured two NPS Gold Medals, with wins in the NPS#65 (PLO-5) and NPS#31 Relay. With ₹17.01 Lakhs in total winnings from 82 cashes in 115 events played so far at a 17% cash rate, Wadhawan is steadily building momentum. While the state is currently just inside the top 12 cutoff, they’ll need to continue their strong performance and win more medals to guarantee their spot.
Rajasthan: Shagun Jain’s Historic Consistency
A true NPS legend from Jaipur, Shagun Jain, is firmly atop the Rajasthan State Leaderboard and #7 on the NPC (India) Leaderboard. He’s also landed at #12 on the NPS Series Leaderboard, and he’s achieved this in record-breaking fashion. His four-medal haul has given him an unprecedented 13th overall NPS medal, and he’s the only player with seven career NPS Gold Medals!
Jain has been racking up NPS medals at breakneck speed—Gold in NPS#87 (7-Max) Friday Freestyle, a Silver Medal in NPS#21 (7-Max) SPRINT, and two Bronze in NPS#60 Monday Medley and NPS#34 (5-Max) Big Hyper—with ₹35.06 Lakhs in total winnings from 94 cashes across 128 events (a 73% cash rate). His relentless grind has earned him 21,115 points on the NPS Series Leaderboard and 19 points on the NPC (India) Leaderboard. His impressive four-medal tally keeps him comfortably ahead of Satyam Verma and Shiven Meena, who are tied at 15 points each.
Haryana: Mohit Mehta’s Unyielding Drive
One of the most respected online veterans, Mohit Mehta, is representing his state with distinction, leading the Haryana State Leaderboard. Currently #8 in the NPC (India) Leaderboard with 19 points, Mehta is also holding a strong position at #15 on the NPS Series Leaderboard.
His four NPS medals (one Gold, one Silver, and two Bronze) – including a Gold in NPS#125 Knockout (KO), a near-miss Silver in NPS#52 (PLO-6), and two Bronze in NPS#90 Slamdunk and NPS#120 Wednesday Volley – have significantly contributed to his series earnings of ₹26.82 Lakhs from a 84 cashes in 128 events at a 66% cash rate. Consistency, hard work, and skill are all contributing to Mehta’s strong performance, giving him 20,592 points on the NPS Series Leaderboard (ranked #15).
Tamil Nadu: Ashish Munot’s Masterclass
The “High Roller Crusher” from Chennai, Ashish Munot, is currently at the top of the Tamil Nadu state leaderboard with 15 points and is ranked #9 in the NPC (India) leaderboard. He also holds the #48 rank in the NPS Series Leaderboard.
He captured the Gold Medal in NPS#19 Micro Highroller and came close with a Silver in NPS#102 Big Knockout (KO). His series winnings of ₹28.13 Lakhs have been recorded from an impressive 58 cashes in 104 events at a 56% cash rate. Munot’s 15,147 points on the NPS Series Leaderboard also demonstrate his consistency! But the battle is far from over, with Aniket Jain (12 points) and 2024 POY #4 Nishaanth Shanmughasundaram (10 points) within striking distance.
Bihar: Abhijeet Kumar’s Determined Pursuit
Online regular Abhijeet Kumar is leading the way for Bihar, holding the top spot on the state leaderboard with 15 points and ranked #10 on the NPC (India) leaderboard.
He clinched the Gold Medal in NPS#8 (4-Max) Hyper SPRINT and narrowly missed another with a Silver in the NPS#117 Marathon. His series haul of ₹12.10 Lakhs comes from 38 cashes in 85 events, a 45% cash rate. However, Young Gun Abhishek Sonu (14 points) is right behind him, creating a close contest at the top.
West Bengal: Harsh Bubna’s Impressive Performance
Kolkata-based online crusher Harsh Bubna, a two-time The MoneyMaker champion, is at the helm of the West Bengal State Leaderboard with 10 points and is ranked #11 in the NPC (India) Leaderboard. He’s also holding a respectable #11 position in the NPS Series Leaderboard with 21,462 points.
After a dedicated grind, he finally clinched the Gold Medal in NPS#116 (7-Max) SPRINT. His series winnings of ₹18.26 Lakhs have come across an impressive 89 cashes in 124 events at a 72% cash rate. However, it’s a precarious lead, as seven other Gold Medalists from the state are also tied at 10 points each. A single medal for any of them could drastically change the leaderboard.
Jammu and Kashmir: Siddharth Jolly in Contention
Siddharth Jolly leads the relatively quiet Jammu and Kashmir State Leaderboard with 10 points, placing him at #12 in the NPC (India) Leaderboard.
He earned his spot on the board by winning the Gold Medal in NPS#105 (4-Max) Hyper SPRINT. His series earnings of ₹14.28 Lakhs come from 66 cashes in 120 events, a 55% cash rate. Avish Sharma is the only other player on the leaderboard with 5 points, and the state will need a surge of medals to guarantee a spot in the final 12 states that will advance to the National Poker Champion showdown in Goa next month.
