The Nevada Gaming Commission granted an interactive gaming license to Boyd Gaming should it ever become legal in the United States to offer real-money online poker again. Boyd Gaming, owner of numerous casinos in Las Vegas and The Borgata in Atlantic City, has already partnered with MGM Resorts and the bwin.party’s network last October, hoping to capitalize on an eventually legalized poker market.

The license will allow Boyd to bring back bwin.party’s popular PartyPoker software to Nevada residents once the gaming company receives its own license as a service provider in state. The Party Poker network ceased to operate in the US in 2006.

Experts say that PartyPoker and the World Poker Tour, owned by bwin.party, are going to attract a significant market share in the U.S., but it won’t be the 50 percent share PartyPoker once had.

The Nevada Gaming Commission also approved the interactive gaming licenses of Fertitta Interactive and the Golden Nugget along with Boyd Gaming.
