Nikita Luther & ‘Bencb’ to Host Free Live Webinar on April 18

The past few weeks have seen an unprecedented increase in online traffic ever since the nation-wide quarantine was announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on March 24. On April 14, the Indian government extended the lockdown till May 3. Hence, it is imperative for one and all to adhere to the government issued guidelines and above all else, maintain ‘social distancing’ protocols.

In a time like this, when everything around us is grim and gloomy, poker players and companies have been doing their best to help out with the COVID-19 relief efforts. And not just that, it’s also good to see poker pros coming together to produce poker-related content to help newcomers and established pros to improve their gameplay.

We are talking about former WSOP bracelet winner Nikita Luther and renowned international poker pro ‘Bencb’ joining hands to host a free LIVE webinar titled ‘Raising the Stakes with Nikita Luther.’

The session will take place live on Gutshot Magazine’s Facebook page, in association with leading online poker site, Spartan Poker, at 7.30 PM on April 18.

Luther is unquestionably an inspiration for up-and-coming poker players, especially for women who are looking to pursue this rather male-dominated sport. Meanwhile, ‘Bencb’ is an accomplished poker coach of international fame who needs no introduction.

The need for relevant poker content has always been present, and over the past year or so, popular domestic brands and players have come forward to fulfill this need. Budding poker talent Sharad Rao joined PokerStars India as the site’s first dedicated live streaming ambassador in June 2019. In fact, even poker icon Aditya Agarwal featured in many live streaming sessions during his time as a PokerStars India Team pro.

Luther is undoubtedly one of the most accomplished poker pros in the country today. She made the country proud by winning the most prestigious prize in the game, the coveted WSOP gold bracelet in the Tag Teams event in 2018. Some of her other prominent wins include shipping a side event at the Macau Poker Cup in 2017. She even took down her first-ever DPT title in the ₹15K Deep Dive at the 2019 DPT February edition.

Her most notable score, however, came in the summer of 2019 when she finished runner-up in the WPT500 ARIA for a personal-best $109,300 (~₹75.32 Lakhs). Incredibly, this was her second-time final tabling this prestigious tournament.

Joining Luther in her webinar will be her mentor, ‘Bencb’. An online legend, ‘Bencb,’ has won some of the toughest online MTT’s at the SCOOP and WCOOP. He is also the founder of the online coaching platform Raise Your Edge that is known to offer one of the most competitive poker courses available today. Luther herself has actually completed the course, and in a recent interview with PokerGuru, she had also talked about her experience, “I have studied the game extensively. I started with a coach and Run It Once videos. More recently, I did the Raise Your Edge course and got training from ‘Bencb’ himself.”
