Russia born online pro Timofey ‘Trueteller’ Kuznetsov (cover image) has joined the ranks of premier online poker card room partypoker. The company already boasts of an impressive line-up of team pros and ambassadors which includes the likes of Isaac Haxton, World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet winners Fedor Holz and Bertrand ‘ElkY’ Grospellier, Patrick Leonard, Jason Koon and tennis pro Boris Becker.
Kuznetsov, who is a regular feature on the final tables of most high-value online tournaments, was an obvious choice for partypoker which has been looking to incorporate team pros who understand their values as a company.
‘Trueteller’had managed to exist in anonymity right up until a casual conversation during the WSOP $50K Poker Players’ Championship in 2015 led to the disclosure of his identity. Best known for his no-limit hold’em prowess, where he has played against heavyweights like Viktor “Isildur1” Blom, Kuznetsov also has fared very well in 2-7 Triple Draw and 8-Game.
While a dynamite on the online scene, 27-year-old Kuznetsov has only three live cashes under his belt to the tune of nearly $3 Million. His first live cash came for finishing fourth in the Aria $500K Super High Roller Bowl (SHRB) event for $2.15 Million in 2015. This was followed by a $50K high roller win in the same Aria SHRB series for $748,446 and his only other cash is for around $91,000 for a fifth-place finish in the 2017 Triton Poker Super High Roller Series HK$250K 6-max event.
Talking about his inclusion in the partypoker team, Kuznetsov said “I am excited to join the partypoker team. It’s a dark age in poker; good sides must unite. I’ve spent all of my career in social silence; it feels like it might be a time to change that. I am looking forward to using my experience of online games to help shape the poker ecology at partypoker and get involved in the new software developments.”
He added, “I also have a keen interest in working with partypoker to develop better mixed games and I can’t wait to start working on this proposal.”
The partypoker management also expressed their excitement stating that Kuznetsov “will be helping partypoker with software development, ecology of the game, shaping schedules and evolving mixed games.”
“We are delighted to welcome Timofey to the team,” said partypoker Managing Director Tom Waters. “At partypoker, our main focus is improving the game for our players and Timofey’s vast experience will be instrumental in the direction we take. We are thrilled that Timofey has decided to pledge his allegiance to partypoker and can’t wait to start working with him.”
As the partypoker Powerfest enters its final week, the virtual action is going to heat up. With Kuznetsov on their side, partypoker is gearing up to end the series on a high note.
