A week of high-octane action brought with it noticeable upheavals! Add to that the trailblazing runs at the WSOP Online series by Indian players like Kunal Bhatia, Divanshu Khurana, and Young Gun’s Abhinav Iyer and Gaurav Sood, and this has been a blockbuster week.
DISCLAIMER: We are cutting the week a day short since Saturday is a national holiday on account of Independence Day.
Guneet Kwatra makes his debut at the top of the weekly rankings after winning the AOPS Mini Main Event Finale on Sunday for a whopping ₹25 Lakhs! Kwatra raked in ₹27.15 Lakhs through the week, and his net winnings have skyrocketed to ₹3.3 Crores.
While this is Kwatra’s personal-best online score, he also tops the monthly online leaderboard, having earned ₹31.88 Lakhs in just the last fortnight.
The #1 ranked player on the yearly leaderboard, Gaurav Sood, is placed second to Kwatra on both the weekly and monthly leaderboard with the new GPS Millionaire champion Rahul Kabade rounding out the top three spots.
PokerGuru Ambassador Vivek Singh, who was second on the monthly charts last week, has been pushed to the #3 spot this time.
We’ve talked enough about Sood over the past 13 weeks. This unassuming, 24-year old go-getter remains the biggest winner of the year, yet. He went on a tear this week and won two titles – the Destiny on Spartan and the AOPS PLO Highroller. He even placed 4th in the GPS Millionaire, earning ₹23.15 Lakhs through the week.
Sood’s annual earnings have crossed ₹2.92 Crores, and even his profit graph is touching ₹1.48 Crores! If total dominance across domestic sites was not challenging enough, this former Dentist came close to pulling off a bracelet victory. He finished 6th in Event 60: $525 Bounty at the 2020 WSOP Online series on GGPoker/Natural8 for ₹21.35 Lakhs.
With Sood firmly planted on top of the annual leaderboard, everyone seems to be fighting for the #2 spot. Jumping one place higher to take up the second position on the yearly rankings is Anant Purohit, with Young Gun Arsh Grover breaking into the top 3.
