Live tournament poker is back in top gear, and even though most of the top regs were busy at the ongoing APPT Manila and the Colossus High Roller Series in Goa, the digital felts surprisingly dished out some massive prizes, all thanks to PokerBaazi Classics 2.0 and Spartan Poker`s Freedom Celebration Series.
Even with so much activity online, the top order of the annual leaderboard remains unchanged, with Young Gun Anuj Yadav still perched firmly on top! After maintaining a low profile for several weeks, Yadav did relatively well this time, adding ₹3.84 Lakhs to his scorecard – even though a title victory has eluded him for over a month. Nevertheless, with ₹2.86 Crores in annual winnings, he is still the player to catch in the POY race.
After a scorching run these past few weeks, Young Gun Sahil Chutani (annual winnings – ₹2.73 Crores) was conspicuously missing in action this week, giving Yadav a chance to gain some advantage. Despite his absence, Chutani is still comfortably ahead of the competition at #2 in the annual rankings and continues to enjoy a runaway lead as the most profitable player of the year.
Young Gun Arsh Grover (annual winnings – ₹2.41 Crores) retains his #3 position in the yearly charts, and like Chutani, he barely put in any volume this week. The competition in the top five is intensifying, with Saurabh Rohila and PokerGuru Ambassador Arjanveer Singh Chadha, less than ₹10 Lakhs behind Grover.
One of our first batch of Young Guns, Aditya Sushant, topped the weekly charts after a blistering run last Sunday. The WSOP bracelet winner overcame a packed 1,123-entry field in PokerBaazi`s PBC#1 The MoneyMaker to win ₹19.10 Lakhs, becoming the first player in history to champion The MoneyMaker twice. The bumper Sunday run boosted Sushant’s weekly winnings to ₹20.46 Lakhs, making him the week`s top scorer.
Rising Star Ritwik Khanna was another breakout winner! He shipped PokerStars India`s Bounty Builder HR – Galactic MAIN EVENT EDITION and Spartan Poker`s Thursday High Roller to take up the #2 position in the weekly standings with ₹14.25 Lakhs in total winnings. PokerGuru Ambassador Arjanveer Singh Chadha rounds out the top three names on the weekly charts with ₹13.71 Lakhs in total winnings on the back of runner-up finishes in Spartan Poker`s Sunday SuperStack and PokerBaazi`s PBC#13 Weekly HighRoller.
Since we are in the first week of August, the weekly rankings are almost similar to the monthly standings, and we have skipped canvassing them separately.

While the two-time IOPC – Legends champion booked his berth in the PBC#11 Game Changer and FCS – Mega Celebration through respective starting flights, he added less than ₹1 Lakh to his kitty.
