It was yet another cracking week on the virtual felts. Even without any eight-figure guaranteed tournaments on offer, there was a lot of movement on the weekly and yearly leaderboards. Since this week’s ‘Online Rankings’ covers the period between November 28 to December 4, we have excluded the Monthly Rankings. Raghav Bansal topped the November leaderboard.
Anand Babu Pallikona makes his debut at the top of the weekly charts on the back of his two flagship title victories on Spartan Poker – the Sunday SuperStack and the Mega Stack. For his dazzling performance, he also captured the “PokerGuru Star of the Week” honor!
Coming to the yearly rankings, not much has changed at the top two positions. Young Gun Gaurav Sood completes a record-shattering 30 weeks on top of the annual charts today, while his fellow Young Gun Arsh Grover extends his second-place record to a 14th consecutive week.
It is the #3 spot on the annual leaderboard that has witnessed quite a bit of action recently. Srihari Bang had held onto the #3 spot for 12 consecutive weeks till November 13, before Sanat Mehrotra took over the seat last week. This week, poker veteran, Sumit Sapra, has snatched the #3 spot from Mehrotra.
There are now seven players on the annual leaderboard sitting with over ₹3 Crores in recorded winnings this year, including Gaurav Sood (₹4,16,61,051), Arsh Grover (₹3,69,50,063), Sumit Sapra (₹3,12,85,584), PokerGuru Ambassador Ashish Ahuja (₹3,10,09,527), Sanat Mehrotra (₹3,09,82,768), Srihari Bang (₹3,06,23,331) and Anant Purohit (₹3,01,98,475).
So, while Sood may well be out of reach, for now, the battle for the #2 and #3 spots promises to get more intense as we approach the end of the year.
