As we enter September, the opening week was expectedly busy with blockbuster editions of Spartan Poker’s Millionaire Series, PokerStars India`s Galactic Series, and MPL Poker`s Master Series, keeping the digital felts on overdrive!
Young Gun Anuj Yadav (annual winnings – ₹3.18 Crores) continues to hold the fort on top of the yearly charts and enters Week #28 as the POY race frontrunner with no immediate competition in sight. The MTT pro had a smashing run last month where he finished #3 in the August rankings (August winnings – ₹34.24 Lakhs). However, he kept a low profile this week, raking in less than ₹1 Lakh.
The #2 ranked player of the year Sahil Chutani (annual winnings – ₹2.89 Crores), might have disbanded his BTR Staking poker stable and moved to London, but that`s not kept him away from the online grind on Indian poker platforms. The undisputed “most profitable player of the year” accumulated ₹5.61 Lakhs this week, improving his annual profits to ₹1.94 Crores.
PokerGuru Ambassador Arjanveer Singh Chadha (annual winnings – ₹2.71 Crores) was the week`s biggest chartbuster for the second consecutive time. The two-week sprint has catapulted him to #3 in the annual rankings, where he has displaced Young Gun Arsh Grover (annual winnings – ₹2.59 Crores), the latter dropping to #4.
Since this is the opening week of September, we shall be skipping a separate mention of the monthly rankings.
If an action-packed August was not enough, PokerGuru Ambassador Arjanveer Singh Chadha (weekly winnings – ₹23.08 Lakhs) ran up the weekly charts again, topping the standing for the second week in a row.
The MoneyMaker runner-up finisher PokerGuru Ambassador Sanchit Anand (weekly winnings – ₹18.10 Lakhs) and the MS #7 – Friday Millionaire runner-up finisher Anurag Srivastava (weekly winnings – ₹17.36 Lakhs) were the week`s other top scorers.
