This past week was unusually busy, all thanks to Spartan Poker`s (and partner sites BLITZPOKER and PokerHigh) The Millionaire Series that churned out Millionaires daily (some days even more than one)! However, none of the freshly-minted Millionaires could shake off Young Gun Anuj Yadav from the #1 position on the annual leaderboard. The online phenom raked in over ₹10 Lakhs throughout the week, boosting his yearly tally to ₹1.63 Crores (₹96.67 Lakhs in net profits). Yadav has now officially entered his seventh week as the #1 ranked player of the year, pulling significantly ahead of his two closest competitors, Arsh Grover (#2) and Sahil Chutani (#3).
Speaking of the latter, cash game pro Sahil Chutani wasn`t very active in MTTs this week. Consequently, PokerGuru Ambassador Ashish Ahuja, Mohammad Azhar, and Young Gun Gaurav Sood have all closed in!
Young Gun Gaurav Sood has his wedding just around the corner, but it didn`t keep him from his online grind. The two-time POY winner had a trailblazing week and added ₹23.09 Lakhs in cumulative winnings, most of it for taking down the Millionaire Series #16 – High Roller on Spartan Poker for ₹21 Lakhs. This was Sood`s second-best career finish, and it made him the second player after Anuj Yadav to win The Millionaire title thrice. He has leap-frogged to the #1 position in the April leaderboard rankings and is ranked a solid seventh on the annual leaderboard.
Following Sood on the monthly charts are the two top finishers of the Millionaire Series #5 – Double Millionaire, PokerGuru Ambassador Deepankur Gupta (#2) and Vaibhav Temani (#3).
Sood, Gupta, and Temani traded places at the top of the weekly leaderboard rankings, with Gupta leading the charts as the week’s biggest scorer. Gaurav Sood finished at #2 while Vaibhav Temani came in at #3.
