The online poker landscape was ablaze with high-stakes excitement throughout the week, driven by Spartan Poker’s massive 25 Crores GTD Legend Poker Series and PokerBaazi’s spectacular 6-plus Crores GTD 1000X Series 5.0.

Pocket52 has also turned September into a poker treasure trove, offering an astonishing 10 Crores in tournament guarantees. These events, along with other significant tournaments on top poker platforms, ensured a whirlwind of poker showdowns in the digital arena.

With the impending deadline of October 1 for the proposed 28% GST on deposits, players and operators alike have been looking to capitalize on the window available before imminent industry shifts.

In terms of individual achievements, Young Gun Gaurav Sood (annual winnings – 3.92 Crores) remains the force to reckon with. He is marching steadily towards possibly clinching an unparalleled third Player of the Year title. Sood’s 13-week leadership in the POY race, combined with his top position in the annual profit charts boasting ₹1.90 Crores, underlines his supremacy in online MTTs. However, challengers like Ashish Munot (annual winnings – 3.52 Crores), currently in the #2 spot, and Ankit Wadhawan (annual winnings – 3.28 Crores), who has reclaimed his #3 rank, are meticulously crafting strategies to challenge his lead.

The podium finishers of the EndBoss 6.0, Arun Sriram (weekly winnings – 1.05 Crores, monthly winnings – 1.07 Crores), Thiyam Dannish (weekly winnings – 56.84 Lakhs, monthly winnings – 57.84 Lakhs), and Nitin Rawat (weekly winnings – 31.21 Lakhs, monthly winnings – 38.14 Lakhs) have solidified their positions in the top three spots on both the monthly and weekly leaderboards.

Weekly Cashes – ₹1,05,10,025

Weekly Profit – 1,03,34,322

Weekly Leaderboard Points – N/A

Arun Sriram made history this Sunday as he claimed the title of the sixth EndBoss champion on PokerBaazi. In an extraordinary week filled with exceptional performances, Sriram raked in an astounding 1.05 Crores, resulting in weekly profits of 1.03 Crores, courtesy of six standout finishes. His triumph in two major flagship events solidified his position as the week’s top performer.

PokerBaazi’s 5 Crores GTD EndBoss 6.0, featuring an enticing 5,500 entry fee and an irresistible 10,000X value proposition, attracted a massive field of 9,147 participants, including 6,285 unique players, spanning 10 Qualifier flights. Out of this formidable group, only 904 contenders advanced to the grand finale, which kicked off at 8:30 PM on Sunday.

In the midst of fierce competition, Sriram’s brilliance shone brightly. His victory, achieved in less than eight hours, bucked the recent trend of deal-making on the final table during EndBoss editions. Not only did he secure the prestigious title, but he also claimed a substantial 1 Crore prize. This monumental achievement further enhances his already illustrious online poker career, marked by two Adda52 Big Game titles, and notably follows his triumph in Adda52’s Nano HighRoller, where he narrowly missed victory on August 20.

3. Ankit Wadhawan

Yearly Cashes – 3,28,43,105

Yearly Profit – ₹97,32,380

Yearly Leaderboard Points – 33,792

Ankit Wadhawan’s return to the online poker arena mirrors the triumphant comeback of a sports star following a sabbatical. His six-week absence, during which he graced the grandeur of the 2023 WSOP in Las Vegas, temporarily cost him his podium spot in the Player of the Year (POY) race. However, after four weeks of climbing the ranks, he resurfaced in the third position.

In the past week alone, Wadhawan accumulated 9.06 Lakhs from six deep runs, including an exceptional runner-up finish in Adda52’s Big Whale and a final table appearance in Godfather. What truly sets Wadhawan apart is his unwavering tenacity. While many players might lose hope in the POY race after slipping in the rankings, he clung firmly to the #3 spot on the annual leaderboard. This serves as a testament to the substantial lead he had established earlier in the year, a reflection of his strategic gameplay, consistent performance, and a series of victorious outings.

His 3.28 Crores in winnings is undoubtedly an impressive figure on its own, but the real highlight is his staggering 97.32 Lakhs in net profits, underscoring the efficiency and prowess of his poker skills.
