Its been quite a grim week for live poker with the Chief Ministers of Goa and Sikkim announcing the shut down of casinos till March 31 and April 15, respectively, to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19). This, in turn, has led to the postponement of all the live tournament stops that were to take place in March, April, and May. The silver lining in such trying times has been the surge in online traffic with poker community taking the cautious step of staying indoors. With established poker sites offering big guarantee tournament series such as the Spartan Super Series (Spartan Poker), Adda52 Online Poker Series (Adda52), and the PokerBaazi Monthly Value Series (PokerBaazi), the virtual felts have been teeming with electrifying action.

It turned out to be a life-changing Sunday for PokerGuru Ambassador Faiz Alam on March 15 as he banked the second-biggest online score of the year (thus far) by taking down Adda52’s AOPS Main Event ₹2 Crores GTD for a whopping ₹50 Lakhs. The poker pro who has only recently shifted base to Kolkata had been on a downswing for almost a year before this massive score brought him out of the red. His incredible performance saw him top not only the weekly rankings but also helped him take the lead in the monthly leaderboard!

However, since Alam had opted out of Sharkscope, he is presently not reflecting in our leaderboard rankings, something we intend to correct in due course.
