It was another phenomenal week on the virtual felts with ‘amarkhatri999’ coming out as the week’s topper. The player trounced the competition in Adda52’s AOPS Main Event Finale to win a personal-best ₹43.80 Lakhs. Since the player has requested anonymity, we’re withholding their name. That said, this was a long-overdue victory for the player who had gone through a three-month-long dry spell!
The other headliner this week was Vijayawada-based Srihari Bang. The 21-year-old poker prodigy finished runner-up to ‘amarkhatri999’ in the AOPS Main Event Finale for ₹27.40 Lakhs – enough to place him second to ‘amarkhatri999’ on the weekly charts, with Vikranth Varma rounding out the top three places on the weekly leaderboard.
Bang’s runner-up finish in the AOPS Main Event may have been impressive, but his consistency is even more laudable. Over just three weeks, he has added a whopping ₹44.35 Lakhs to his winnings scorecard, emerging as the biggest scorer of the month. Here again, Bang shares the top ranks with ‘amarkhatri999,’ who, with ₹44.29 Lakhs in monthly winnings, falls second to Bang. Last week’s topper, Guneet Kwatra, sits at #3 on the monthly charts.
24-year-old poker phenom Gaurav Sood continues to rule supreme over the yearly rankings for yet another week – his 14th consecutive week at the top! Sood was, for the longest time, the only player in the ₹2 Crore-club of 2020. He had a relatively modest run last month but has really picked up the pace in August, adding almost ₹36.13 Lakhs to his tally in August. Not only has Sood consolidated his lead on the annual charts, but he is also now the first player in the country to touch ₹3 Crores in recorded winnings this year!
Bang features in the top 3 of the annual leaderboard for the third time and is placed second to Sood this week. Anant Purohit stays put at the #3 spot for the second consecutive week.
