Diwali, the festival of lights, prosperity, and joy, is here, and we wish our readers a super Diwali weekend replete with memorable poker moments! PokerStars India’s Diwali Rush Series keeps the regs busy alongside regular tournaments.
As we enter the final week of October, Young Gun Anuj Yadav (annual winnings – ₹3.53 Crores) achieved what we have been waiting for – closing into Young Gun Gaurav Sood’s 34-week leaderboard topping streak of 2020! Yadav has officially completed 34 weeks as the 2022 topper and is likely to remain in charge over the coming few weeks. Yadav went incognito from our radar around a fortnight back, but we could track three of Yadav’s final table finishes that saw him rack at least ₹4.57 Lakhs over the week.
The three-time Millionaire champion deserves a toast to be raised for him since he has completed 34 weeks as the 2022 leaderboard topper. As Yadav enters Week #35 on the top, he is now at par with Young Gun Gaurav Sood’s record leaderboard-topping streak of 2020. Yadav enjoys a comfortable lead over the rest of the crowd, so we can safely assume that he will indeed breach Sood’s 34-week streak. But will he close 2022 as the year’s biggest scorer? With over two months to go, the annual POY race may still witness a significant upheaval!
Young Gun Sahil Chutani (annual winnings – ₹3.33 Crores) was MIA from the domestic action for another week. Chutani may still face a threat on the cashes front, but as far as profits go, he remains the undisputed leader with ₹2.30 Crores in annual profits.
Keeping to the #3 position was PokerGuru Ambassador Arjanveer Singh Chadha (annual winnings – ₹3.17 Crores), who lapped up ₹3.57 Lakhs across his weekly run.
Though Chadha is a considerable distance ahead of the #4 ranked player, fellow stablemate Ashish Ahuja (annual winnings – ₹3 Crores), the latter crossed the significant ₹3 Crore milestone in tracked online cashes this week.
Young Gun Aayush Arya (monthly winnings – ₹42.37 Lakhs) maintained rank as the October leaderboard topper, despite an average run where he could muster only about ₹1.60 Lakhs. Arya’s sublime form has grown his annual winnings to ₹2.88 Crores, making him the sixth-ranked player on the yearly charts.
In contrast, the second-ranked Tanmay Benara (monthly winnings – ₹41.17 Lakhs) fared better, adding ₹12.38 Lakhs this week. The DCS #65 High runner-up Gopal Bajaj (monthly winnings – ₹40.72 Lakhs), rounds out the top three scorers of the month.
Bajaj turned out to be the week’s biggest chartbuster. Not only did his runner-up score in the DCS #65 High Main Event fetch him a ₹19.76 Lakhs payday, Bajaj cashed the event one more time, collecting ₹22.18 Lakhs (1st & 112th). Bajaj reeled in another seven FT finishes, earning a massive ₹34.09 Lakhs in just a week’s time!
The DCS #65 – Main Event winner Young Gun Ujjwal Narwal (weekly winnings – ₹24.15 Lakhs) and Myron Pereira (weekly winnings – ₹23.26 Lakhs) round out the podium on the weekly leaderboards.
