A week from 2023, Young Gun Anuj Yadav (annual winnings – ₹4.57 Crores) has been breaking all sorts of records. The elusive online crusher can sit and relax, looking at a long and eventful run on the felts that has kept him on top of the 2022 POY leaderboard. Yadav broke Young Gun Gaurav Sood’s 34-week record as the annual topper in Week #3 of October. Last week, he also crossed Sood’s 2021 scores (₹4.44 Crores) by pulling past the ₹4.50 Crore marker in annual winnings. This week, Yadav collected ₹6.44 Lakhs in cashes, also storming past Sood’s 2020 annual scorecard (₹4.51 Crores). Since Yadav chose to opt out of tracking a few months back, we can only provide approximate figures on his yearly scores. That said, Yadav completed 44 consecutive weeks as the #1 ranked player of 2022 today!
Though Ashish Ahuja (annual winnings – ₹4.07 Crores) and Arjanveer Singh Chadha (annual winnings – ₹3.90 Crores) were missing from the online action for over a week, it did not affect their yearly rankings, and both players held onto their #2 and #3 spots.
The LEGEND #114 Main Event Dhinesh Kumar (monthly winnings – ₹65.89 Lakhs) stormed into the December ranking last week. Kumar had a below-average week and could muster just ₹2.13 Lakhs. He remains the #1 ranked player of the month but faces an immediate and direct threat from the LEGEND #49 – High Roller champion Mahesh Shyamsundar (monthly winnings – ₹54.81 Lakhs), who is currently ranked #2. Young Gun Shardul Parthasarathi (monthly winnings – ₹53.58 Lakhs) made a surprise entry into the top three of the December leaderboard, pushing Armaan Kochhar (monthly winnings – ₹47.13 Lakhs) one position down.
Pune-based online crusher Harshad Barve (weekly winnings – ₹18.19 Lakhs) burst into the top spot following his scintillating victory in Spartan Poker’s MoneyControl Poker for People. Barve captured the event for ₹15.74 Lakhs, following a heads-up deal.
