In this feature, we bring you to the top three weekly, monthly, and yearly performers every Saturday. These rankings are based on cumulative winnings (cashes). For MTT players, it was a marathon grind this week as two massive guaranteed tourneys played down to their finale. At the same time, another prominent online series commenced, rounding off a blockbuster month.
The biggest crowd-puller was the ₹2.5 Crores GTD WPT India Main Event that logged in a guarantee-smashing 2,573 entries. And walking away with the distinction of becoming the first-ever WPT Online India Main Event champion was the relatively unknown player, Kumar Sahaj. In addition to the bragging rights of winning such a prestigious tourney, Sahaj won a beautiful WPT Main Event trophy, a Hublot watch worth ₹7 Lakhs, USD 5K WPT Passport, and a life-changing ₹50 Lakhs cash prize. No surprise then that Sahaj is our weekly leaderboard topper. Also, given the significant payday, he has made the #2 spot on the monthly leaderboard.
Close behind Sahaj on the weekly rankings is the first-ever FTS Main Event champion, Arjun Pasricha, who won the ₹2 Crores GTD Main Event on Spartan Poker for ₹40.01 Lakhs. ‘PsychG0D,’ who placed runner-up to Sahaj in the WPT India Main Event, rounds out the top 3 this week.
We’re a weekend away from closing out November, but the month certainly belonged to Raghav Bansal, who captured two WPT Online trophies. He also finished runner-up in the ₹1 Crore GTD FTS #11 Highroller, adding up to a mind-boggling ₹55.79 Lakhs in winnings in November. WPTOI ME champion Sahaj and FTS #8 Big Game champion Dhirendra Kumar occupy the next two spots on top of the November leaderboard.
We had to skip the “Online Rankings” report last week due to technical issues. But now that we are back with an update, nothing seems to have changed for the Gurgaon-based Dentist-turned-poker-player – Young Gun Gaurav Sood.
Sood completes an incredible 29 weeks as the #1 ranked player of 2020 today, with Young Gun Arsh Grover continuing his reign on the #2 spot for the 14th consecutive week.
The writing was on the wall with such fierce competition creeping in for the #3 spot. And it`s finally happened with Sanat Mehrotra dethroning Srihari Bang from the #3 spot on the annual rankings after winning the Value Bomb. The win also helped him cross the ₹3-Crore mark in recorded winnings for the year!
