As we enter August, Young Gun Anuj Yadav has officially completed five straight months as the #1 ranked player of the year! This week again, Yadav took a relative backseat, adding about ₹1.75 Lakhs in online MTTs. While that`s kept the online phenom (annual winnings – ₹2.83 Crores) at #1 in the POY rankings for the 22nd consecutive week, competition is closing in.

Young Gun Sahil Chutani (annual winnings – ₹2.72 Crores) and Young Gun Arsh Grover (annual winnings – ₹2.40 Crores) retained the #2 and #3 positions on the yearly leaderboard standings.

The most profitable year of the year, Sahil Chutani, had another breakout week that saw him closing in significantly on Yadav. He whipped out an impressive ₹13.63 Lakhs in total winnings, most prominently taking down the Adda52 Big Game last Sunday for ₹12.94 Lakhs. While Yadav is about ₹10 Lakhs ahead of him in annual winnings, Chutani is heaps ahead of the rest in net profits for the year (annual profits – ₹1.89 Crores).

Young Gun Arsh Grover is finally back from an extended trip to the U.S. and announced his return with a bang by championing Spartan Poker`s Friday High Roller for ₹7.86 Lakhs.

Chutani’s meteoric rise in the annual-monthly charts has been nothing short of phenomenal, and it’s no surprise he ends July as the month’s top-ranked player. While he won flagship tournaments like Adda52’s Godfather early in the month, the poker pro and coach ran steady, posting victories in Adda52’s Big Game and back-to-back wins in Spartan Poker`s Thursday High Roller, filling in a hefty July scorecard of ₹54.44 Lakhs!

Aayush Arya (monthly cashes – ₹52.76 Lakhs) and Sahil Mahboobani (monthly cashes – ₹48.04 Lakhs) closed out July ranked #2 and #3 in the monthly standings.

The former banker and long-time poker pro Kunal Patni was the most talked about player this week. The ever-smiling Patni, or KP as fondly called in the poker circuit, had a two-day breakout run through Thursday and Friday. Patni added a whopping ₹19.17 Lakhs to his name, storming to the top of the week’s standings. Dhaval Mudgal (Weekly Cashes – 15.15 Lakhs) and Sahil Chutani (Weekly Cashes – ₹13.63 Lakhs) were the week`s other top scorers!

Yadav`s fellow BTR Staking coach Sahil Chutani has emerged as a serious threat to his reign, especially after his leaderboard-topping July run. The POY battle is getting intense, with a little over ₹10 Lakhs separating the duo.
