With most of the leaderboard frontrunners busy playing at the IPC Megastacks or WPT Prime Vietnam, the top-order of the annual leaderboard rankings didn’t witness any upheavals this week. The current yearly leaderboard topper, Young Gun Anuj Yadav, is fresh off a sixth-place finish at the IPC Megastacks ₹100K High Roller worth ₹6.51 Lakhs, but in online MTTs, he added only about ₹2.80 Lakhs since last week. Nevertheless, the engineer-turned-poker player now enters his 13th week as the annual leaderboard topper and sits on ₹2.07 Crores in annual earnings, with a leaderboard-topping ₹1.15 Crores in net profits.

The #2 ranked Young Gun Arsh Grover accumulated ₹3.88 Lakhs across the week, predominantly including an IPC Platinum Package worth ₹2.17 Lakhs. While Grover boosted his annual tally to ₹1.91 Crore, he converted the IPC package well. Surviving longer than Anuj Yadav on the ₹100K High Roller FT, Grover eventually chopped the title heads-up with Alok Birewar to collect a personal-best live score of ₹31 Lakhs in second place.

PokerGuru Ambassador Ashish Ahuja captured Sunday’s BSS SuperStack for ₹4.60 Lakhs and added ₹5.10 Lakhs throughout the week. Ahuja boasts of ₹1.63 Crores in annual earnings and holds onto the #3 position for yet another week.

The May rankings saw an interchange, with PokerGuru Ambassador Laksh Pal Singh climbing to take the #1 position. Singh earned ₹6.87 Lakhs over the week, most prominently finishing runner-up in last Sunday’s Adda52 Millions. He dethroned the latest PokerGuru Staking recruit and the recent SCS #79 – High – Main Event winner Tarush Gupta, ranked #2 on the monthly leaderboard. Simultaneously, Arsh Grover continues to occupy the #3 position on the May rankings for the second consecutive week.

The weekly topper is none other than the first-ever NPS Main Event champion Mohammad Azhar. The 24-year-old player has steadily climbed up the annual rankings. If Azhar was ranked sixth till last Sunday, he moved up to the #4 spot this week and boasts of ₹1.52 Crores in annual winnings! This week, Azhar exerted a prominent presence, adding a whopping ₹19.11 Lakhs to his tally. He banked runner-up finishes in PokerBaazi’s IMPS #120 Main Event and PokerStars India’s Super Highroller.

The IMPS #120 Main Event champion Md Zeeshan and Young Gun Karan Radia round out the top three names on the weekly charts

When Mohammad Azhar won the inaugural NPS Main Event last June, he had plans to pursue poker recreationally more than as a profession. Azhar has added a litany of poker feats to his name a year down the line, creating a name for himself in this field.

All of 24, Azhar has been running hot in May and has racked up over ₹26.90 Lakhs already. He topped the weekly charts this time, netting ₹19.11 Lakhs.

Much of Azhar’s weekly winnings came in PokerBaazi’s IMPS #120 Main Event, where he placed runner-up to Md Zeeshan. But Azhar ran consistently deep in several other flagships, overshadowing Zeeshan on the weekly charts.
