The final day of PokerBaazi’s National Poker Series India 2023 has arrived, and tensions are high. WPT Prime India`s return to Goa after over three years has caught the domestic circuit’s attention. Still, the NPS has maintained its guarantee-crushing run, albeit less extravagantly than in the first two weeks.
The ‘showstopper killer’ Ashish Munot (annual winnings – ₹2.44 Crores), remaining true to his new moniker, shipped Spartan Poker’s Wednesday High Roller this week, extending his lead in the POY race.
Young Gun Gaurav Sood (annual winnings – ₹2.08 Crores) continues to trail Munot in his bid to win the POY title for a record-extending third time. The poker pro became the second player to cross ₹2 Crores in annual winnings after winning PokerStars India’s Bounty Builder HR on Tuesday. He needs over ₹35 Lakhs of catching up to do, nothing a massive Sunday score cannot accomplish.
Young Gun Arsh Grover (annual winnings – ₹1.82 Crores) had a quiet week but retained his #3 rank in the yearly standings.
Sunday`s MHW Colossus winner Shashank Shekhar stormed to the top of the monthly and weekly charts (monthly winnings – ₹52.90 Lakhs; weekly winnings – ₹35.66 Lakhs) on the back of his sizzling weekend run.
With an impressive ten FT finishes this month, Ankit Wadhawan (monthly winnings – ₹40.58 Lakhs) has landed himself the #2 slot on the April leaderboard and finished #3 on the weekly charts. Mohammad Azhar‘s (monthly winnings – ₹34.97 Lakhs) splendid run in Spartan Poker`s ITM Blizzard earlier in the month kept him at #3 in the April rankings.
Vivek Singh (weekly winnings – ₹27.15 Lakhs) and Ankit Wadhawan (weekly winnings – ₹26.41 Lakhs) trail Shashank Shekhar at #2 and #3 in the weekly rankings.
