The second week of July has been quite eventful! PokerBaazi ran the third edition of its most-popular tournament, the Game Changer ₹2 Crores GTD, and the big winners from this tournament created quite a shakeup in the leaderboards. Triumphing over a 4,486-strong entry field, former PMVS Main Event winner Siddhanth Kripalani claimed the title for a whopping ₹40.02 Lakhs! While Kripalani has featured in our weekly rankings before, this week, for the first time, the pro from Mumbai grabbed the pole position with ₹40.48 Lakhs in weekly winnings. This incredible Game Changer win was also responsible for Kripalani topping the monthly leaderboard, with ₹41.65 Lakhs in winnings, and ₹38.86 Lakhs monthly profits.
Up-and-coming player Shardul Parthasarathi also deserves special mention. Though he lost the Game Changer title to Kripalani, his second-place score of ₹26.48 Lakhs was enough to get him to second place on both the weekly and monthly charts.
Young Gun Gaurav Sood may have left behind the career of becoming a dental surgeon, but his decision to pursue professional poker has undoubtedly paid off. Currently, the only player in the country with over ₹2 Crores in online winnings for 2020 (domestic sites), Sood retains his dominance on the yearly leaderboards for the ninth week straight!
