The digital poker scene was buzzing with relentless action this past week, as PokerBaazi and Natural8 India continued hosting some of the biggest daily battles. Yet, it was Adda52 that stole the Sunday spotlight, thanks to its newly revamped tournament schedule packed with bigger guarantees, bringing fresh energy to the grind. Meanwhile, Junglee Poker amped up the adrenaline with its ₹50 Crores GTD Battle Ground series, and PokerDangal wrapped up its ₹60 Lakhs GTD Dangal Value Series, delivering even more fireworks on the virtual felts.
PokerBaazi, still the primary engine of India’s online scene, has seen surging traffic thanks to its TDS-free April cashout offer, making it a dream month for grinders. But if you think they’re slowing down — think again. Promotions are coming in thick and fast. The iconic The MoneyMaker returns in May, promising a month-long festival of daily grind glory. And the blockbuster announcement—₹125 Crores GTD Indian Poker Masters 2025 is officially locked in for August! Timed perfectly to capture the buzz right after WSOP 2025, this third edition of the Indian Poker Masters isn’t just a return—it’s an escalation, easily surpassing the recent NPS India 2025 in scale and prestige. It promises to be the biggest tournament series ever hosted in India, setting a new gold standard for the domestic poker scene.
With serious cash flying across all major platforms, the action shows no signs of slowing down. Another high-octane Sunday is already underway, and the leaderboards could see a serious shake-up by the time the dust settles. However, for now, the top of the 2025 Player of the Year (POY) leaderboard remains unchanged—the top three contenders are holding firm, just as they have for the past week.
Tarun Goyal Still Commands the POY Lead: 12 Weeks Strong
For the 12th consecutive week, Tarun Goyal remains firmly at the top of the 2025 Player of the Year (POY) leaderboard.
Goyal’s 2024 campaign was nothing short of historic, pulling in ₹12.39 Crores in tracked winnings and nearly ₹10 Crores in profit. It stands as the biggest single-year profit haul we’ve seen since tracking began in 2019, and given the size and competitiveness of today’s poker scene, it’s arguably the best run ever by an Indian player.
Carrying that momentum into 2025, Goyal kicked off the year with the same relentless drive. His incredible February heater, headlined by a ₹2.74 Crores score, gave him a massive cushion early on and set the pace for yet another dominant year.
After keeping a relatively low profile over the past few weeks, Goyal made a dominant return this Monday on the Natural8 India felts, finishing fifth in the Bounty Hunters HR 525 for ₹22.81 Lakhs. The performance made him the biggest winner of the week, with ₹22.82 Lakhs in weekly winnings and ₹19.97 Lakhs in weekly profits. This stellar finish also catapulted him to #2 in the April monthly standings, where he currently boasts ₹25.99 Lakhs in winnings and ₹18.99 Lakhs in profits for the month.
Overall, Goyal’s 2025 tally has now swelled to ₹4.71 Crores in total winnings and ₹2.68 Crores in profits. He continues to maintain a healthy 20% cushion over his nearest rivals on the POY leaderboard. However, with several challengers picking up steam, Goyal will have to stay sharp. The gap is still sizable, but the hunt is on—and the pressure is only mounting.
Anant Purohit Hot on Goyal’s Heels at #2
Anant Purohit, the 2024 POY runner-up, continues to be Tarun Goyal’s fiercest challenger in the 2025 race. Carrying over his sensational form from last year, Purohit has picked up right where he left off, putting in consistent work on Natural8 India. But it was his mind-blowing ₹1.92 Crores victory in the PLOSSUS Bounty 400 in late March that truly shifted the dynamic at the top, instantly making him the top earner for the month and slashing a huge chunk out of Goyal’s lead.
This week, Purohit extended his form with a series of strong finishes in Natural8 India’s Omaholic events. His most prominent results were back-to-back runner-up finishes in the Omaholic Bounty Hunters HR 525, where he earned ₹12.98 Lakhs, and the Omaholic Sunday Bounty Big Game 215, adding ₹6.55 Lakhs to his tally. These performances pushed him to #2 on the weekly leaderboard with ₹22.67 Lakhs in winnings and ₹18.87 Lakhs in profits for the week.
He now sits at #1 on the April monthly leaderboard (with two anonymous users, ‘Raskal’ and ‘Shouryaanga’, not factored in due to registration) with ₹28.31 Lakhs in monthly winnings and ₹19.82 Lakhs in monthly profits.
With ₹3.89 Crores in annual winnings and ₹1.16 Crores in annual profits, Purohit has firmly established that this is shaping up to be a two-horse race for the POY title once again. Just like last year, the battle between Goyal and Purohit is heating up—and it’s far from over.
Ankit Bajaj Holds Firm at #3
Ankit Bajaj continues to hold down the #3 spot on the 2025 POY leaderboard, staying firmly in the mix behind the leading duo of Tarun Goyal and Anant Purohit. While the gap to the top two remains substantial, Bajaj is hanging tough and staying within striking distance for now.
His defining moment came on March 2, when he pulled off a stunning ₹1 Crore mystery bounty win on Natural8 India—an achievement that placed him among an elite group of only six Indian players to register an eight-figure tournament score. That life-changing hit launched Bajaj into the POY top three, and he’s managed to hold his ground ever since.
This past week was relatively quiet on the scoreboard for Bajaj, with no major new results, but he remains solid with ₹1.45 Crores in total winnings and ₹91.43 Lakhs in profit. With the mid-season grind heating up, all it could take is one more breakout score to reignite his challenge.
POY Mid-Pack: Tight Battles and Key Moves
After cracking the top five in the annual POY race last week, Rajneesh Thakur has made another important move, climbing into the #4 position. Known for his relentless volume and regular appearances on the TLB leaderboard, Thakur seems to have shifted into a higher gear recently, pushing his yearly earnings to ₹1.25 Crores and his profits to ₹48.76 Lakhs.
Meanwhile, after slipping one spot to #6 last week, the ever-consistent PokerGuru Staking coach Advait Rajguru has bounced back up to #5. A top-five POY finisher last year, Rajguru stays firmly in the hunt, showing ₹1.24 Crores in winnings and a healthy ₹73.71 Lakhs in profits.
Sliding down two places to #6 this week is Pratik Manjrekar, who had been holding steady at #4 for two consecutive weeks. The Poker Bootcamp India standout, best known for his runner-up finish in the 2023 EndBoss Special Edition and a third-place finish in the massive NPS India 2025 Main Event, continues to post strong results. His 2025 stats still impress, with ₹1.23 Crores in winnings and ₹87.56 Lakhs in profit.
The mid-pack battle is getting tighter by the week, and with momentum shifting fast, expect even more changes soon!
Abilash Bala Holds Firm at #3 in the April Race
After leading the April monthly standings for the first two weeks, Abilash Bala slipped to #3 last week—and has held steady there this week as well. Despite the slight slide, his return to top form remains intact, with consistent results keeping him firmly in the spotlight. Bala’s notable scores this month include a runner-up finish in PokerBaazi’s The Endeavour and a deep run in Natural8 India’s Mystery Bounty Main Event 108, where he finished 736th for ₹4.21 Lakhs.
He rounds out the April monthly top three behind Anant Purohit and Tarun Goyal, with ₹24.66 Lakhs in monthly earnings and ₹13.66 Lakhs in profits. With the final days of the month still to play out, Bala remains well-positioned to make another push up the charts.
Monthly Movers: Sagar Raj, Siddhant Singh, and Gaurav Sood Slide in the April Rankings
Sagar Raj, who was sitting at #2 on the April monthly standings last week, has slid down to #4 this week. His numbers remain strong, with ₹24.39 Lakhs in monthly winnings and ₹16.49 Lakhs in monthly profits, but the competition at the top is getting fiercer by the day.
Siddhant Singh, who had surged to #1 on both the monthly and weekly charts last week, has seen a sharper drop, slipping to #5. He now holds ₹23.26 Lakhs in monthly winnings and ₹16.19 Lakhs in profits, still keeping himself within striking range as the month heads into its final stretch.
Meanwhile, the three-time POY winner Young Gun Gaurav Sood, one of the nine players to have crossed the ₹1 Crore mark in annual winnings this year, is also feeling the heat. Ranked #9 on the annual leaderboard with ₹1.05 Crores in total winnings and ₹60.80 Lakhs in profits, Sood has had a busy April grind. He falls two spots to #6 in the monthly standings, with ₹22.19 Lakhs in monthly winnings and ₹16.29 Lakhs in profits.
Snehil Aggarwal Makes a Splash with a Stellar Natural8 India Debut
NPC finalist Snehil Aggarwal made a grand debut on Natural8 India this week and wasted no time in making his mark. Aggarwal’s breakout performances included a 325th-place finish in Natural8 India’s Mystery Bounty Main Event 108 for ₹10.07 Lakhs, a third-place finish in PokerBaazi’s BSS SuperStack for ₹4.88 Lakhs, and a victory in Natural8 India’s Speed Racer Bounty 108 for ₹1.72 Lakhs.
These impressive results propelled him to third place on the weekly leaderboard, trailing only behind the heavyweights Tarun Goyal and Anant Purohit. Aggarwal wrapped up the week with ₹17.20 Lakhs in weekly winnings and ₹14.08 Lakhs in profits.
Other Weekly Standouts
Aniket Waghmare secured the #4 spot on the weekly charts, putting up a strong performance with ₹13.85 Lakhs in winnings and ₹10.08 Lakhs in profits.
Young Gun Sanat Mehrotra followed close behind, finishing #5 with ₹9.43 Lakhs in winnings and ₹7.06 Lakhs in profits, continuing his solid run of form.
Rounding out the top six, Rishab Malik delivered a consistent showing, collecting ₹8.96 Lakhs in weekly winnings and ₹6.60 Lakhs in weekly profits to cap off a strong week.
