With half of May already in the books, the online poker scene is firing on all cylinders—and PokerBaazi is leading the charge with its iconic ₹1 Crore GTD The MoneyMaker, running daily throughout the month. For 31 consecutive days, players are battling for championship bracelets and seven-figure scores, and the tremors are already being felt across the leaderboards.
But the heat doesn’t stop there. Natural8 India is powering through with the World Festival 2025, touted as the biggest online poker series ever in India, promising leaderboard-shaking payouts. Over at Adda52, revamped flagships continue to draw massive fields, while Junglee Poker’s ₹7.50 Crores GTD Poker Premier League (PPL) is closing out its ambitious ₹50 Crores GTD festival with a bang.
With high-stakes action and massive guarantees unfolding across every major platform, another Super Sunday is underway—and the leaderboard turbulence is only intensifying. While the top three of the 2025 POY race remain immovable, the mid-pack has seen serious shake-ups, and with the grind just getting hotter, more seismic shifts are all but guaranteed.
Tarun Goyal’s Unbreakable Grip: 15 Weeks Atop the POY Mountain
Tarun Goyal refuses to relinquish his crown. Week after week, he has maintained his stranglehold on the 2025 Player of the Year leaderboard, marking an unprecedented 15th consecutive week at the summit. His level of sustained dominance hasn’t been seen since Young Gun Gaurav Sood‘s historic three-peat—proof of just how extraordinary Goyal’s run has been.
Rewind to 2024, and Goyal’s campaign was nothing short of mythical. He amassed ₹12.39 Crores in tracked winnings and turned nearly ₹10 Crores in profit, shattering every benchmark and earning him the 2024 POY title in emphatic fashion. That performance is regarded as the greatest single-year run ever by an Indian online pro—a feat made all the more remarkable by the fierce competition of today’s circuit.
Rather than slowing down, Goyal roared into 2025 on the back of that momentum. His ₹2.74 Crores heater in February gave him a commanding early advantage in the repeat POY race, and he has clung to that lead ever since. After a relatively subdued start to May, Goyal came roaring back this week. On Monday night, he charged through Natural8 India’s Bounty Hunters Mega Main 525, finishing runner-up for a whopping ₹67.45 Lakhs—including ₹14 Lakhs just from bounties. It was his seventh-largest score on the platform and his second-biggest payday of the year.
That single score not only secured him the weekly top spot with matching ₹67.45 Lakhs in winnings and ₹60.96 Lakhs in profits, but it also vaulted him into the lead of the May monthly standings, where he now boasts ₹69.91 Lakhs in winnings and ₹56.93 Lakhs in profits.
Across five months of relentless action, Goyal’s 2025 stats stand at an eye-popping ₹5.39 Crores in total winnings—the only player to breach the ₹5 Crores mark this year—and ₹3.01 Crores in profits. His advantage over Anant Purohit, the lone figure even close to matching him, has swelled to ₹1.16 Crores, a 27% lead that underscores just how daunting his perch has become. Yet, with Purohit’s firepower and the promise of a familiar Goyal vs. Purohit duel on the horizon, the actual test of Goyal’s reign may lie ahead. For now, though, he sits unchallenged at the very peak—15 weeks running—and the chase continues.
Anant Purohit: The Relentless Challenger at POY #2
If Tarun Goyal is the king of the leaderboard, then Anant Purohit is the challenger who refuses to bow. The 2024 POY runner-up is once again playing the long game to perfection—relentlessly closing the gap and staking his claim for the crown in the 2025 Player of the Year (POY) race.
Purohit’s defining moment this year came in late March when he shipped the PLOSSUS Bounty 400 on Natural8 India for a career-best ₹1.92 Crores—a monster score that instantly made him the month’s top earner and brought him within striking distance of Goyal.
But unlike most who spike a big win, Purohit didn’t let off the gas. Instead, he doubled down. During April’s Omaholic series, he posted back-to-back runner-up finishes in high-stakes bounty events—₹12.98 Lakhs in the Omaholic Bounty Hunters HR 525 and ₹6.55 Lakhs in the Sunday Bounty Big Game 215. That consistent grind earned him the top spot on April’s monthly leaderboard with ₹34.97 Lakhs in winnings and ₹21.43 Lakhs in profits.
And now, in May, the charge continues. Purohit opened the month strong, placing fourth in The European Classic 320 for a cool ₹16.58 Lakhs in the very first week.
As it stands, Purohit has racked up ₹4.22 Crores in annual winnings and ₹1.23 Crores in profits, putting him just behind Goyal and well ahead of the rest of the field. The message is clear: this is a two-horse race. Goyal still holds the lead, but Purohit’s string of career-best outings makes it impossible to count him out. If history repeats itself, we’re in for another epic showdown between India’s two most consistent poker titans—because the POY crown is far from decided.
Ankit Bajaj Holds the Line at #3 in the POY Rankings
Ankit Bajaj remains firmly planted at #3 on the 2025 POY leaderboard, just behind heavyweights Tarun Goyal and Anant Purohit. While the gap to the top two is still significant, Bajaj’s year-long consistency has kept him in the elite circle.
His defining moment came on March 2, when he bagged a life-altering ₹1 Crore mystery bounty on Natural8 India, instantly placing him in an exclusive club of just six Indian players to record an eight-figure tournament payday. That game-changing win rocketed him into the POY spotlight, and he’s held on to his podium spot ever since.
Although his last few weeks have been relatively quiet, Bajaj returned from a five-week break in style, posting ₹14.50+ Lakhs on a single Tuesday grind. The standout was a third-place finish in the Bounty Hunters Deepstack Turbo 525, where he scored ₹12.32 Lakhs, including ₹3.96 Lakhs in bounties—his second-biggest score this year. He followed that up with a 25th-place finish in the Bounty Hunters Daily Main 525 for ₹2.18 Lakhs, proving he hasn’t lost his touch.
With his 2025 totals now at ₹1.66 Crores in winnings and ₹96.13 Lakhs in profits, Bajaj remains a serious POY contender. But with high-performing rivals like Rising Star Aman Parakh, Rajneesh Thakur, and Advait Rajguru closing in fast, Bajaj will need another big finish soon to maintain his #3 position in what’s shaping up to be a thrilling mid-season leaderboard battle.
POY Mid-Pack: The Battle Beneath the Top 3 Heats Up
While the top three spots in the 2025 POY standings have remained unshaken, the chase pack just below continues to shuffle with every passing week—and this time is no different.
Rising Star Aman Parakh has surged into the #4 position, riding a wave of big scores. With ₹1.46 Crores in annual winnings and ₹70.27 Lakhs in profits, Parakh has made a strong case as the next serious contender for the podium. His steady climb proves he’s no longer flying under the radar.
Slipping one spot to #5 is the tireless grinder Rajneesh Thakur, a volume monster who’s a regular fixture on the Tournament Leaderboard (TLB) charts. Thakur’s relentless grind has pushed his 2025 tally to ₹1.44 Crores in winnings and ₹56.02 Lakhs in profits, keeping him well within reach of the top three.
Just behind him at #6, Advait Rajguru—the ever-consistent PokerGuru Staking coach and a 2024 POY top-five finisher—continues to be a strong presence on the circuit. With ₹1.40 Crores in winnings and a robust ₹80.28 Lakhs in profits, Rajguru remains a serious threat in what’s becoming the most tightly contested tier of the POY race.
Rishabh Gupta Climbs to #2 on Both Weekly & Monthly Leaderboards
Rishabh Gupta delivered a scorching three-day heater on Natural8 India, catapulting him to the #2 spot on both the weekly and monthly leaderboards.
Gupta raked in ₹30.63 Lakhs in weekly winnings and ₹25.16 Lakhs in profits, securing second place on the weekly charts. His run also propelled him to #2 on the May monthly standings, where he now boasts ₹49.87 Lakhs in winnings and ₹37.40 Lakhs in profits—firmly placing him among the hottest performers of the month.
The highlight of his week came on Tuesday, when he finished runner-up in the Bounty Hunters Deepstack Turbo 55, netting a career-best ₹14.61 Lakhs. He followed that up with a ₹3.99 Lakhs 10th-place finish in the Wednesday Wonderbox 320 and a ninth-place showing in Thursday Titans 320, adding another ₹5.12 Lakhs to his blazing streak.
Sanat Mehrotra Slips to #3 in May Rankings But Remains Red-Hot
Young Gun Sanat Mehrotra, who ended April as the #2 ranked player on both the monthly and weekly charts, exploded into May with dominant performances that briefly put him atop both leaderboards last week. While this week has been quieter by his standards, Mehrotra still closes out the week at #3 on the May monthly charts, backed by an impressive ₹35.61 Lakhs in winnings and ₹30.52 Lakhs in profits.
His early May momentum was fuelled by deep runs in some of the month’s biggest events. He finished runner-up in PokerBaazi’s The Summit, then followed up with a third-place finish in The MoneyMaker 96.0, banking ₹7 Lakhs. He mirrored that with another third-place finish in Adda52’s Thursday Thunder, displaying elite-level consistency.
But the peak of his heater came last Friday, when Mehrotra shipped The MoneyMaker 99.0 for ₹15 Lakhs, becoming just the sixth player ever to win two The MoneyMaker bracelets—a landmark moment in his already decorated online career.
His red-hot run has also powered him further up the 2025 POY leaderboard, where he now sits at #7, slightly down from last week. Still, with ₹1.34 Crores in annual winnings and ₹95.62 Lakhs in profits, Sanat Mehrotra remains a significant force in this year’s race.
Ishaan Pandya Breaks Out, Rounds Out Weekly Top 3
Ishaan Pandya just had his breakthrough moment—and it was nothing short of spectacular. After slowly building momentum with a few deep runs since his Natural8 India debut last March, Pandya blew the roof off last Saturday night in the Omaholic Mystery Bounty Festival 55.
Although he finished 204th, the mystery bounty twist turned the ordinary into extraordinary—snagging a jaw-dropping ₹22.25 Lakhs, with ₹22 Lakhs coming solely from bounties. The score is over 15 times his previous best and marks just his third-ever cash on the platform.
That one massive hit was enough to land Pandya at #3 on the weekly leaderboard, with ₹22.25 Lakhs in winnings and ₹20.03 Lakhs in profits—and firmly establish himself as a rising force to watch.
