In this feature, we bring you to the top three weekly, monthly, and yearly performers every Sunday. These rankings are based on cumulative winnings (cashes). However, the rankings only include players registered to our online ranking system, so if you haven’t signed up on PokerGuru yet, hurry up and register!

Around two years ago, Gaurav Sood was a trained dentist with an undying passion for poker but less to show for it. In just 20 months, this Gurgaon lad has emerged to become the poster boy for Indian poker, shaking up the felts with his sheer consistency.

For someone who has been the winningest player in the country for over 40 weeks (in under two years) – after counting his current three-week streak – Sood had a relatively quiet week, booking a ₹6.58 Lakhs in winnings. He sits on ₹3.25 Crores in annual earnings, almost ₹25 Lakhs ahead of Manish Lakhotia at #2.

Similarly, Sood continues to helm the profits charts with ₹1.62 Crores in annual profits. And now for the other headline – Gaurav Sood is less than ₹4 Lakhs short of crossing the ₹10 Crore milestone in lifetime earnings. To give you perspective on this achievement, there is no other player on our tracked database on ₹9 Crores yet.

Manish Lakhotia and PokerGuru Ambassador Laksh Pal Singh round out the top three positions on the annual rankings. Singh continues to hold to the #2 spot in annual profits behind Sood. Together, this trio of MTT crushers has pulled a significant distance ahead of the year’s other top earners!

August has been a hectic month dotted with marquee events, and Gaurav Sood has performed to his reputation. The poker prodigy has won three flagship events like the WPT India Super High Roller, the APT Championship Event, and the Trending Thursday. There is still a blockbuster Sunday grind left to unfold later today. These scores combined with 12 FT finishes have pushed his August tally to ₹75.50 Lakhs (and counting).

Like the annual rankings, the top order of the August standings also stay intact, as the IOPC – The Crown champion Vaibhav Temani and WPT India Highroller winner PokerGuru Ambassador Vishal Bajaj retain their #2 and #3 spots on the monthly charts.

This week undoubtedly belonged to Vaibhav Sharma, who lapped up three title wins. Sharma started out strong on Sunday when he took down the WPT 3000, also placing runner-up in the WPT Quad 9 Finale for ₹12.16 Lakhs. He went on to champion The Summit and the WPT Gladiator, adding ₹29.41 Lakhs throughout the week, including ₹27.22 Lakhs in profits.

The recent The Millionaire champion Rishab Malik and Srihari Bang round out the top three names on the weekly charts.
