Another electrifying week on the virtual felts saw Spartan Poker’s ₹1 Crore GTD The Millionaire headlining the action. Predictably, the Sunday marquee event winner, PokerGuru Ambassador Vishal Bajaj is the weekly topper, also taking home our “PokerGuru Star of the Week” title!
The fight to grab the #2 spot on the weekly leaderboard was intense between PokerGuru Ambassador Ashish Ahuja and Young Gun Sanat Mehrotra. The latter was ahead for most of the week, but Ahuja’s victory in Spartan Poker’s ₹30 Lakhs GTD The Elite last night helped him secure him the #2 rank, with Mehrotra dropping down to the #3 spot.
In fact, Spartan Poker’s The Elite ended up causing quite a bit of upheaval this week. Besides propelling Ahuja to the second position on the weekly rankings, it was also responsible for PokerGuru Ambassador Laksh Pal Singh retaining his place at the top of the annual charts for a sixth consecutive week.
The yearly rankings have been a tight five-way race, with Young Gun Gaurav Sood and Laksh Pal Singh at loggerheads with each other for the #1 position. On Thursday, Sood trumped Singh to take over the ‘numero uno’ position after winning Spartan Poker’s ₹5.5 Lakhs GTD Wednesday Vibes. Even then, he was just ahead by ₹23,728. Although Singh had kept a low profile for most of the week, his ninth-place finish in The Elite gave him a much-needed boost, helping him shoot past the Gurgaon-based pro to retain his #1 rank.
The 2020 leaderboard topper, Sood, has been in firecracker form for more than a year now. He may have lost the chance to top the yearly rankings this week, but with just ₹21,620 separating him from Singh, a big win will once again put him ahead in the race.
Manish Lakhotia retains his #3 position on the yearly leaderboard for a second consecutive week. He, too, is just ₹98,376 behind Singh in annual winnings and very much in the reckoning.
The competition between the top five on the annual charts in very tight. Ashish Ahuja (Ranked #4 for ₹1.07 Crores), Young Gun Arsh Grover (Ranked #5 for ₹1.04 Crores), and PokerGuru Ambassador Arjanveer Singh Chadha (Ranked #6 for ₹1 Crore) have all crossed the ₹1 Crore-mark in annual winnings!
