With the National Poker Series dishing out massive prizes all week long, several standout winners emerged. All said and done; three players dominated the headlines, none more than Young Gun Anuj Yadav. This week, the poker prodigy raked in ₹21.94 Lakhs, retaining his #1 position in the POY race for the third straight week. His annual tally has moved north of ₹1.35 Crores, and with ₹80.72 Lakhs in yearly profits, Yadav is also the most profitable player of the year.

Young Gun Arsh Grover was the second player grabbing the spotlight. The 25-year-old MTT pro sprinted to #2 on the annual charts after taking down the FTS 4.0 – Main Event last Sunday for ₹40.24 Lakhs, and he`s crossed ₹1.29 Crores in yearly winnings. The big Sunday score also catapulted him to the top of the monthly and weekly charts.

Sahil Chutani briefly held the #2 spot in the annual standings for a week, but he`s been pushed down and comes in at #3 this week. The Young Gun is still riding strong on the profit leaderboard, where he is ranked #2, just barely below Yadav with ₹80.38 Lakhs in annual profits.

Interestingly, only Anuj Yadav and Sahil Chutani had crossed the ₹1 Crore mark in annual winnings until last Saturday. Given the choc-a-bloc MTT calendar filled with massive guaranteed tournaments, the 1 Crore Club now has six players in it – Mohammad Azhar, Young Gun Siddhanth Kripalani, and Amit Gehani being the most recent entries.

The defending NPS Main Event champion Mohammad Azhar was the week`s third runaway scorer. The poker phenom finished runner-up in the FTS 4.0 Main Event on Sunday for ₹24.84 Lakhs and took down NPS#50 Evening Slam Dunk for his fourth NPS gold medal. With ₹50.56 Lakhs in cumulative earnings in March, he takes the #2 position in the monthly standings.

Anuj Yadav rounds out the top three names on the monthly leaderboard standings while claiming this distinction on the weekly leaderboard is the recent FTS #36 – Head Hunter champion Ankit Bajaj.

2. Arsh Grover

Yearly Cashes – 1,29,44,822

Yearly Profit – 68,93,911

Yearly Leaderboard Points – 17,167

Young Gun Arsh Grover is one player we have canvassed extensively in this weekly feature. He ranked #2 in the 2020 POY race and finished #12 in the 2021 race (because of an extended break). It looks like Grover is going to play a significant role in the 2022 POY battle, especially after binking a flagship tournament like the FTS 4.0 Main Event in the first quarter.

By now you know that Grover`s FTS 4.0 Main Event score has put him at the top of the weekly and monthly standings. But what bears a closer look is that he is just about 6 Lakhs behind Anuj Yadav in the annual standings, setting up prospects for a thrilling contest for the POY title between two very talented players.

3. Sahil Chutani

Yearly Cashes – 1,12,08,099

Yearly Profit – 80,37,950

Yearly Leaderboard Points – 7,595

Sahil Chutani had made quite the splash in January when he won two IOPC flagships – IOPC #69 – Legends, and IOPC #49 High Roller – emerging as one of the frontrunners in the POY race. Last week, he pulled out another terrific run, adding over ₹20.68 Lakhs to ladder up to the #2 position in the annual standings.

Chutani’s upward momentum was short-lived, as he could muster only 6.60 Lakhs this week, headlined by a seventh-place score in the FTS 4.0 – Main Event.

Still, Chutani remains a dominating force with ₹1.12 Crores in annual winnings and sits a very close #2 in yearly profits behind Anuj Yadav.
