Partypoker Signs Up Four-Time World Champion Boxer Carl Froch As Brand Ambassador

Partypoker has just signed up four-time world champion boxer, Carl “The Cobra” Froch (cover image), as their new brand ambassador and have lined up an enticing array of promotions for players with the new star. The boxer has a record of winning 33 out of 35 fights, with 24 of these by Knockouts.

The announcement was made on Monday, November 9, just after Iaron Lightbourne made his career’s largest cash, by winning the 2015 Partypoker World Poker Tour UK Main Event for £200,000.

38-year old Froch will now play online as part of Partypoker’s “For the People” offer and will represent the brand at live events. Partypoker has renamed and revamped several of its MTTs, with a boxing touch, and players can also avail of the chance to battle against the new boxing champion. The new offers have been named as the “Power Series” and will have 158 tournaments each week, with accumulative guarantees of $1,284,000. There will be a range of events starting from the minor $5.50 buy-in The Jab, with a guaranteed $5,000, to the $150,000 guaranteed Main Event.

Golan Shaked, Director of Games, Partypoker, in a welcoming note to Froch said that “The new Power Series guarantees are the next step in our Poker for the People strategy, creating a format that is easily accessible to all, with knockout value for every level of player. It’s great to have Carl on board, he is one of the World’s best sportsmen and bringing his competitive spirit to the poker table will be a great test for our players.”

Responding to the tie-up, Froch stated, “I’ve been mentally preparing for this tournament just the same as any of my world title fights – I intend to win and as the Ambassador for partypoker I best not let the side down! The table in December that Froch is referring to will be a new offer, where 99 players will get the chance to vie for $100,000 in guaranteed prize money in an online tournament to be held on Dec 13. Players can qualify for this finale till Dec 6, where the top 99 would be eligible to win a seat along with Froch at the $100,000 GTD event.
