The virtual felts were full to the brim with exciting action on Thursday with the seven-day long Spartan Super Series (SSS) fast approaching its finale. Last night, the SSS #24: Texas HR ₹45 Lakhs GTD, took the online felts by storm, registering 219 entries (124 unique, 44 re-entries and 51 rebuys), resulting in a massive prize pool collection of ₹54.75 Lakhs. While anonymous user ‘77777777’ bagged the coveted title for a monstrous payday of ₹10.57 Lakhs, a familiar name in Phanindra ‘k9akkin’ Akkina finished runner-up for an equally gigantic ₹9.63 Lakhs.
Spartan Poker hosted five events which were a part of the SSS last night. Besides, the Texas HR, the two other events of prominence were the Head Hunter ₹12 Lakhs GTD and the Hi-Fi ₹6 Lakhs GTD. While ‘chitti3.0’ shipped the Head-Hunter for ₹2.79 Lakhs, Sandeep ‘shreister’ Sreedhar took down the Hi-Fi for ₹1.28 Lakhs.
Adda52’s Godfather X ₹20 Lakhs GTD finally fought its way out of the overlay landslide, registering a prize pool worth ₹20.05 Lakhs via 401 entries (252 unique and 149 re-entries). Ayan ‘gutshotguru1’ Ray bested Meherzad ‘sailaway’ Munsaf (runner-up for ₹3 Lakhs) heads-up, collecting ₹4.97 Lakhs in first-place prize money. Meanwhile, ‘ChupaRustam2901’ won Adda52’s Hexagram ₹2.5 Lakhs GTD for ₹70,758.
Aditya ‘adit11’ Kulkarni, who had recently taken down PokerBaazi’s Friday SuperStack ₹3 Lakhs GTD on September 13, came out on top once again, this time in The Summit ₹15 Lakhs GTD. He trounced a field of 233 entries (125 unique and 108 re-entries) adding ₹4.11 Lakhs to his bankroll.
Model-turned-poker pro Shravan ‘FishStars’ Chhabria enjoyed a blistering run last night. He narrowly missed clinching the title in The Summit, finishing third for ₹1.85 Lakhs, but more than made up for it by championing the Thursday MonsterStack ₹5 Lakhs GTD, pocketing ₹1.23 Lakhs for his win.
The next ten days guarantee unbridled action as the ever-popular PokerBaazi Premier League (PPL) hits the Baazi felts today. Featuring total prize pool guarantees worth a massive ₹7 Crores, the 10-day long online poker extravaganza with also give out Leaderboard prizes worth ₹15 Lakhs, including packages to the upcoming Baazi Poker Tour (BPT).
PokerStars India’s Highroller ₹10 Lakhs GTD became the third consecutive weekly flagship event to overshoot its guarantee on the site. The heads-up match played out between Ayan ‘gutshotguru1’ Ray and Meherzad ‘sailaway’ Munsaf, and it was the former who came out on top to win ₹4.97 Lakhs while Munsaf took the runner-up spot for ₹3 Lakhs.
Akshay ‘vibaks’ Nasa, who is presently representing Team India at the ongoing 2019 APT Philippines II and has qualified for Day 2 of the PHP 10 Million GTD Championships Event, also managed to final table the Godfather X last night, finishing fifth for ₹1.04 Lakhs.
