India’s first-ever live-streamed online poker league, the Poker Sports League (PSL) Season 3 (Virtual), is well underway and has eight teams battling it out for a share of the ₹1.20 Crore in cash prizes (overall ₹2 Crores prize pool for the league).
PokerDangal Kolkata Kings had taken an early lead in the team standings, and they continue to stay put at #1 with the league just a day’s play away from closing out Week #3. The four-week-long league will soon enter the home stretch with only five matches left before the Finale week starts!
All the action is being live-streamed on Viacom18’s VOOT app – past matches are available in the video-on-demand section.
The team PokerDangal Kolkata Kings with 23,400 points continue to be frontrunners in the contest and the clear favorites to directly make the cut for Finale. The team has added 2,500 points to their tally this week, with team owner Karan Gandhi scoring 1,000 points for his team from his third-place finish in the Owners Category match. On February 3, Aniruddha Joshi picked up 1,500 points for winning the General SNG.
The fight for the #2 spot in the Finale is getting intense, with Deccan Aces (16,300 points) and Gujarat Falcons (15,000 points) currently rounding out the top three places on the leaderboard.
This has been a fantastic week for Gujarat Falcons, and the team has, in fact, doubled their points in two days! It has been a scoring frenzy, with all team members adding to the Gujarat Falcons points tally. Simran Malhotra (runner-up in Women’s Category match), Nitin Dhamija (General SNG winner), and Jaydeep Dawer (runner-up in Owners Category match) accumulated 1,500 points each, while Ram Kakkar finished third for 1,000 points in the Online Qualifier SNG on February 1 and the team captain Romit Advani placed runner-up in the Captains Category for 2,100 points.

Week 3 Update
Online Qualifier SNG (February 1) – Delhi Czars’ was lingering at the bottom of the team standings before their online qualifier Avneesh Munjal championed the SNG to collect 2,500 points. Myron Periera from Deccan Aces placed runner-up for 1,500 points to keep the momentum going for his team, while Gujarat Falcons Ram Kakkar finished third for 1,000 points.

Women Category (February 1) – Eight of the best female poker players in the country gathered for the Women’s Category match on February 1. Bracelet winner Nikita Luther of the MPL Mumbai Anchors swept the victory to score 2,500 points. Gujarat Falcons’ Simran Malhotra placed runner-up for 1,500 points while Delhi Czars’ Niharika Bindra raked up 1,000 points for placing third.

General SNG (February 1) – Gujarat Falcons’ Nitin Dhamija shipped the General SNG to score 1,500 points, with MPL Goan Nuts’ Dhaval Mudgal (900 points) and MPL Mumbai Anchors Puneet Mehra (600 points) came in close behind.

Captains Category (February 3) – Chennai Troopers captain and poker coach Kanishka Samant picked up 3,500 points for his team after winning the captain’s category. Gujarat Falcons’ Romit Advani placed runner-up to score 2,100 points while MPL Goan Nuts captain Dhaval Mudgal settled for the third spot for 1,400 points.
Kanishka had gained a 6:1 chip lead before the land hand of the match that saw Romit Advani limping in with . Kanishka called off to see the flop open . Romit bet 900. Kanishka shoved with his flush draw, and Romit snap-called. The on the turn meant Romit was drawing dead, and Kanishka took down the match with his king-high flush.

Owners Category (February 3) – One of the most awaited matches in the league, the Owners Category match saw Delhi Czar’s team owner Narayana Sailesh coming out on top to collect 2,500 points. Gujarat Falcons owner Jaydeep Dawer placed runner-up for 1,500 points while PokerDangal Kolkata Kings’ Karan Gandhi placed third for 1,000 points.
