One of India’s leading online poker sites, PokerBaazi, just made an exciting announcement. The brand has onboarded poker coach Abhishek Goindi and poker diva Muskan Sethi as its latest Team Pros! Nearly five months after Bollywood superstar Shahid Kapoor was signed on as a celebrity brand ambassador, PokerBaazi will now have this ‘dynamic duo’ represent the brand on the live and online felts.

This exciting news comes just after PokerBaazi announced a record-high of 5,000 concurrent players on the site, with 1,600 players on the cash tables in early November. Touted to be ‘India’s most trusted online poker site,’ PokerBaazi has been creating many waves in the poker circuit. From hosting the biggest online poker tournaments, such as G.O.A.T & EndBoss, to recording the most cash table traffic on an Indian poker platform to date, PokerBaazi has well and truly dominated all aspects of Indian poker.
So, it comes as no surprise that the brand would look to rope in two of the most experienced and renowned names in the domestic circuit as Team Pros. Abhishek Goindi and Muskan Sethi have been a part of the Indian poker entourage for several years. While their individual poker journeys have been unique and inspiring, their combined poker prowess is a force to be reckoned with.
Goindi has been a poker coach for some time and has helped improve several aspiring players’ gameplay. Sethi’s social media presence has drawn in many women players to the sport. Both Goindi and Sethi are well-known content creators and have previously hosted their own YouTube talk shows surrounding poker.
Let’s get to know the new PokerBaazi Team Pros a little better!
About Abishek Goindi
The poker coach, Abhishek Goindi, is perhaps one of the most easily recognizable faces of the domestic circuit. The co-founder of Poker Bootcamp India (PBCI) started his poker journey in 2007 during a two-month summer break while still in high school. By the time he joined Christ College in Bengaluru, Goindi was already a regular at playing micro-stakes cash games with friends.
He attributes some of his early success to French poker veteran Philippe Davis, who taught him some tricks and staked him. Goindi won ₹42K in a tournament at Davis’ place and was hooked. Ultimately, going pro was not a difficult decision for Goindi. The going was not all rosy, though; for a short while, he worked at HSBC Bank, returning to poker as soon as possible.
Over the years, Goindi has had an on-again, off-again relationship with poker. During his break from poker in 2013, he worked as a sports consultant for the World Sport Group. In 2016, he launched his online poker site – GoPoker.in. At one point, he also worked as a consultant with Adda52.
With ₹2.67 Crores in live tournaments winnings, Goindi’s biggest score to date came in the 2012 Macau Poker Cup – Red Dragon Event in Macau, where he finished runner-up for $136,245. Goindi has won titles at events like Aces Unlimited, India Poker Legend, APT Manila, PokerGuru Tour & Deltin Poker Tournament.
The man has also been steadily working on his online game and has built up quite a repertoire of FT finishes. He presently boasts ₹3.69 Crores in recorded online earnings, and ₹1.34 Crores in net profits.
About Muskan Sethi
It requires immense determination, gusto, and passion for a woman to succeed in the male-dominated poker industry. Muskan Sethi is a perfect amalgamation of all three qualities!
Sethi was introduced to poker very early on in life by her father and what started as a passing interest has now blossomed into a successful career. The Delhi girl’s claim to fame was her appearance in the PokerStars Shark Cage TV show. Since then, her life has been on an upward trajectory, bringing her unbounded success and recognition. Sethi is a proud recipient of the “First Ladies” award by the Hon’ble President of India.
This isn’t Sethi’s first rodeo being a Team Pro. She has previously represented Adda52, PokerStars India, and was also appointed as the Responsible Gaming Ambassador for the All India Gaming Federation (AIGF) in 2019.
PokerBaazi officially launched on October 23, 2014, and dealt its first hand on October 24. The unrelenting efforts of its co-founders ensured the site picked up traction quickly, and within a month of operations, it had dealt over 1 Lakh hands. The site’s offerings were so well-received that by February 2015, it had dealt a million hands!
In May, the site crossed 1000+ Concurrent players on its cash tables. In September, the site completed 8 years of operations, and in November, PokerBaazi hit a new milestone of 5,000 concurrent players on the site with 1,600 players on the cash tables.
It is one of the select Indian online poker sites to boast an utterly indigenous product built in-house. It would not be an overstatement to say that PokerBaazi’s revamped platform (and app) is at par, if not superior, to any other poker platform worldwide.
PokerBaazi has come a long way since its humble start eight years ago and has helped put Indian poker on the world map. However, looking at its growth trajectory, it’s evident that the brand still has a long way to go.
