Fresh off his incredible win in the $500K GTD Event #66: $1,100 NLH Ultimate Stack at the DeepStack Championship Poker Series in Las Vegas, his first live victory in five years, Goindi continued his hot streak in Hanoi. While on a brief stop in Vietnam for a PokerBaazi video shoot, he decided to test his skills in the VND 1 Billion GTD Hot Saturday at the renowned Crown Poker Club.

Just eleven days after his victory in Las Vegas, Goindi outplayed a field of 125 entries in the VND 1 Billion Hot Saturday, a mainstay weekend tournament at the poker room that attracts top local talent. He emerged victorious, claiming his first win in Vietnam and his second in South Asia, along with a cool $7,200 (~₹6.06 Lakhs). With at least eleven live titles under his belt, including three outside India, Goindi’s poker career is on fire.

Goindi is coming off a solid showing at the 2024 World Series of Poker, raking in ₹18.50 Lakhs across seven deep runs. He was one of the late arrivals at the annual series. He’s a true poker powerhouse, with over ₹4.90 Crores in online earnings and ₹3.69 Crores in live winnings. Currently ranked 23rd on India’s all-time money list, Goindi’s star is only rising.

Goindi’s poker journey began in 2010 at the Indian Poker Championship in Goa, where he made an impressive debut by finishing sixth in a ₹25K No-Limit Hold ’em event for ₹1.18 Lakhs. He’s been proving his skills ever since, winning numerous titles and making deep runs in major tournaments. One of his most memorable moments was at the 2012 Macau Poker Cup, where he took home a massive $136,244 for second place in the HK$11K NLHE—Red Dragon Event.

Not only is Goindi a phenomenal player, but he’s also passionate about giving back to the poker community. Through his Poker Boot Camp India, he’s helping to nurture the next generation of Indian poker stars. As he continues to amaze audiences worldwide, it’s clear that he’s not just playing the game; he’s changing it and setting the bar high for his students.
