PokerBaazi Team pro Vikram Kumar (cover image) has been one of the most active members on the circuit off late with his poker exploits taking him to far-flung poker destinations. Kumar`s camera friendly demeanor has also made him famous through his “Lungi TV” updates that has him streaming cool and sometimes hilarious video clips.
It now looks like the Chennai-based Kumar will be spending most of his time in Bengaluru as he has recently taken on the role of strategic consultant at PokerBaazi Live poker room in Bengaluru. His new role will see him heading management and all strategic decisions regarding events and promotions happening in the room.
PokerBaazi Live is one of the premier poker rooms in Bengaluru and though the room has been renamed numerous times its safe to say that the room is now in very capable hands.
The poker room was originally called the High 5 Poker Room and was setup by Uma Mahesh and Raghavendra ‘Raghav’ Rajanna. In July 2014, the room was taken over by Andy Morgan and renamed Andyz Fish and Chips.
Last year in March, Morgan and Rajanna decided to go their separate ways and the room was renamed Phoenix poker room with Rajanna retaining control of the poker room. PokerBaazi took over the reins of the club in partnership with Rajanna sometime in October 2016 and the room was rebranded PokerBaazi live.
We spoke to Kumar who confirmed the news and shared his plans for the room. “I will be joining PokerBaazi Live as a strategic consultant with the main aim to streamline operations. My main aim will be to try and set good games for players and give the best experience in all possible aspects. This role excites me and brings me closer to try and spread awareness of the game and consolidate even stronger the Baazi brand as the most trusted brand for poker in India.”
One of the partners of the poker room Raghavendra ‘Raghav’ Rajanna was equally welcoming of Vikram in his new role and said, “Vikram Kumar alias lungi is a great asset for team Baazi and he has proved it again and again both on and off the felt. We are pleased to have him lead the PokerBaazi live team. Vikram in his new role would be handling the day-to-day operations, strategic planning and events. We wish him all the best!”
PokerBaazi CEO Navkiran Singh said “This comes at a great time for PokerBaazi, with the biggest poker league and tournament announced. Events like the PokerBaazi Premier League and The MoneyMaker will not just revolutionize online poker more, but also strengthen PokerBaazi as most sort after brand for both online and live poker in India and continue to be India’s most trusted poker brand.”
PokerBaazi co-Founder Puneet Singh was equally excited about this new development and said, “Vikram is a highly valuable addition in this new role at PokerBaazi LIVE. He has travelled across the globe and will be able to set up even higher standards to make it the premium live Poker destination.
