The Game Changer & The MoneyMaker
From the nine events on the ‘PokerBaazi Classics’ schedule, two stand out: the ₹2 Crores GTD The Game Changer and the ₹1 Crore GTD The MoneyMaker.
The MoneyMaker is another one of PokerBaazi’s most celebrated tournament franchises with a cherished four-year-long legacy as India’s first-ever ₹1 Crore tournament. Anujkumar Kodam shipped the first-ever MoneyMaker title back in 2017. The 12th edition of The MoneyMaker, held in October 2020, was won by Banmanlang Lyndem for ₹17.46 Lakhs.
The 13th edition of The MoneyMaker, is a ‘1 Flight, ₹1 Crore GTD’ tourney and is the only such event in the country at present. The tournament will be the series-opener of the PokerBaazi Classics. The ₹11,000 buy-in event starts at 6 PM on January 2.
The first-ever online tournament to offer a ₹2 Crore prize pool guarantee, The Game Changer, had made its maiden run on PokerBaazi in February 2019. Prashanth Sekar was the first-ever ‘Game Changer’ champion and won ₹33 Lakhs in prize money. Since then, three more editions have been hosted with Jaikiran Kumar shipping the most recent The Game Changer 4.0 in September last year for ₹33.16 Lakhs!
The Game Changer 5.0 at the PokerBaazi Classics returns with the same ₹5,500 buy-in and four starting flights. The event will commence on January 5.
Day 2 will start at 9 PM on January 9.
Other Tournaments to Watch Out For
The PokerBaazi Classics series is an amalgamation of PokerBaazi’s biggest MTT hits. Needless to say, every one of the tournaments is well-known and much-beloved by the ‘desi’ poker-playing masses.
Besides The Game Changer and The MoneyMaker, the other events to keep an eye out for are the ₹40 Lakhs GTD Endeavour and the ₹35 Lakhs GTD Summit. Endeavour will run in a multi-flight format from January 3 to 5, while Summit is a single-day event slated on January 6.
