Bluffing in poker is an art, and Adam Hendrix (cover image) painted a masterpiece on Valentine’s Day.

The Alaskan poker pro pulled off an audacious move at the final table of Event #3: $10,100 No-Limit Hold’em at the 2025 PokerGO Cup, making Harvey Castro lay down a winning hand heads-up. Hendrix’s fearless king-high river shove sent Castro deep into the tank before he ultimately folded two pair, a decision that paved the way for Hendrix to claim the $316,050 top prize. Castro bagged $193,500 for his runner-up finish.

The event drew 129 entries, creating a prize pool of $1,290,000. Hendrix outmaneuvered them all to secure his seventh PokerGO Tour (PGT) title in dominant fashion. The win not only marked the fourth-largest score of his career but also pushed his lifetime earnings to a staggering $8.20 Million.

This victory was more than just another payday. With 316 PGT points, Hendrix surged into seventh place in the PGT season-long standings. He also jumped to 31st place in the 2025 Player of the Year (POY) race presented by Global Poker, putting himself in contention for an even bigger year ahead. Joey Weissman, on the heels of his phenomenal performance in the first two events of the series, sits atop the PGT Leaderboard with 586 PGT points.

With only 19 places paid, players battled fiercely to avoid the dreaded bubble. Brandon Wittmeyer was the unfortunate victim, watching his Ace-five suited fall short against Aram Zobian’s pocket nines, sending him home empty-handed.

Several notable players made deep runs but fell short of the final table. Sean Winter finished 12th for $32,250, followed by Aram Zobian in 13th for $25,800. Jesse Lonis claimed 16th place for $19,350, while Yi Klassen secured the final payout spot in 19th for the same amount.

Once Jim Collopy was eliminated in eighth place for $51,600, the final seven players were set.
