Jorryt ‘TheCleaner11’ van Hoof Ships WCOOP PLO HR for $465,559

The World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) is currently underway and on September 6 Jorryt ‘TheCleaner11’ van Hoof took down the $25,000 PLO High Roller for an impressive sum of $465,559.

The event attracted 54 entries and generated a prize pool of $1,324,350. With only the top six places receiving payouts, van Hoof competed against the likes of ‘WRUUUUM’, Sami ‘LrsLzk’ Kelopuro and Joao ‘IneedMassari’ Simao on the final table.

He faced ‘danfiu’ in the heads-up confrontation. ‘danfiu’ had placed fourth in the 2017 PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP), in which van Hoof had finished fifth. But this time, it was van Hoof who emerged as the ultimate champion.

However, many of the other events also crowned winners in Olli ‘Era_Koira’ Ikonen ($2,100 Six Pot Limit Omaha High Roller for $150,420), ‘miikka84’ ($215 Six Pot Limit Omaha High Roller for $44,563), Laszlo ‘omaha4rollz’ Bujtas ($2,100 Heads-Up No Limit Hold’em for $76,800) and ‘KingRakker’ ($215 Heads-Up No Limit Hold’em for $23,622).

The biggest buy-in event at the 2018 partypoker Powerfest was Event #29: Super High Roller $1M GTD Championship Event and fielding through 195 runners, Hungarian player Andras ‘probirs’ Nemeth took down the title. Nemeth added $177,934 to his career online earnings that crossed $8.5 Million with the win. He chopped the event heads-up with ‘rdcrsnn’ who banked $173,965 for his runner-up finish.

Notably, Nemeth is fresh off his win at the €25,000 Single-Day High Roller at the 2018 EPT Barcelona where he topped 95 entrants to take home a hefty payday of €605,600.

Leon Tsoukernik Wins partypoker PowerFest SHR For $208K

Part of the excitement generated in the 2018 partypoker Powerfest is owing to the competitively charged environment of the Super High Roller tournaments that feature in the online series’ roster. Another SHR tournament got in the books, when live cash game specialist and owner of King’s Casino in Rozvadov, Leon Tsoukernik took down the partypoker Powerfest Event #16: Super High Roller $1M GTD Championship Event.

Proving his online gaming skills in the star-studded field of 204 entrants, Tsoukernik scooped the title and added a hefty payday of almost $208,000 to his online earnings. It was only the second-ever online tournament for the Russia-born Czech. “I’m so proud,” Tsoukernik said, after playing a “very tough 11 hours.”

Tsoukernik played the tournament from Germany, since partypoker is not yet available in the Czech Republic. Known for his loose aggressive style in live cash games and tournaments, Tsoukernik recently won the Velden ‘Em SHR title in Austria in the €25k buy-in event. He fired seven bullets to make his way through the field and eventually wound up on the final table where he outlasted his opponents and won the first-place purse worth €370,000.

The event also saw partypoker ambassador Patrick ‘plenopads’ Leonard making a deep run with him taking 11th place for $18,156.

At the final table in the Powerfest Super High Roller, Tsoukernik fended off big online challengers including ‘mczhand’ and ‘Chealsea72’. He confronted ‘helicopterben82’ in the heads-up play and defeated him to win the top prize.
