May is off to a flying start and the second Sunday of the month turned out to be a blockbuster one! Spartan Poker’s The Millionaire Series 2.0 wrapped up proceedings in style with the series showstopper, the ₹1.50 Crore GTD Millionaire Series #16 – The Millionaire, crowing a champion in PokerGuru Ambassador Kartik Ved! The MTT pro is the third PokerGuru Ambassador to ship The Millionaire title in the past two months, after Laksh Pal Singh (Won The Millionaire on April 11) and Vishal Bajaj (Won The Millionaire on March 28)! And it’s the second consecutive time a member of PokerGuru Staking has won The Millionaire Series showstopper. Ashutosh Balodhi had won The Millionaire title at the inaugural series last December.
Given that the final table comprised some of the most prominent names of the domestic circuit, it wasn’t an easy task to accomplish. Nonetheless, Kartik Ved proved his mettle, taking down his career-first Millionaire title for a jaw-dropping ₹30.31 Lakhs (1st for ₹29.90 Lakhs, 127th for ₹23,530, and 261st for ₹17,560).
Not happy with just shipping The Millionaire, Ved also won the Millionaire Series #14 – Deepstack for ₹12.76 Lakhs and ran deep in two more tournaments, registering a whopping ₹44.26 Lakhs in Sunday earnings!
“Always the bridesmaid, never a bride” sadly seems to have become an adage that is most applicable to Young Gun Shardul Parthasarathi. The talented poker pro did exceptionally well to finish second in the Millionaire Series – The Millionaire for ₹17.21 Lakhs (2nd for ₹16.61 Lakhs, 77th for ₹32,410, and 98th for ₹27,745) in total winnings.
Besides Kartik Ved and Shardul Parathasarathi, Goonjan Mall was another seasoned campaigner to book a seven-figure Sunday score as he championed Adda52’s ₹50 Lakhs GTD Adda52 Big Game for a massive ₹16.33 Lakhs.
Manish Lakhotia (Won PokerStars India’s Sunday Special for ₹2.75 Lakhs), Amit Kaushik (Won PokerStars India’s Sunday Highroller for ₹2.67 Lakhs), Aditya Kulkarni (Won PokerBaazi’s BSS#5 MegaStack for ₹1.54 Lakhs), Tanay Hegde (Won PokerBaazi’s BSS#3 MonsterStack for ₹1.48 Lakhs) and Biplob Rana (Won Adda52’s Ship It for ₹1.24 Lakhs) won the other Sunday marquees.
Here are the Sunday highlights!
