Just like cyclone Tauktae passed off the baton to cyclone Yaas, it seems like PokerGuru Ambassadors have also been passing The Millionaire title from one to the other each week. For a third consecutive week, a PokerGuru Staking member, this week Mithun Mahesh, captured The Millionaire title, netting a whopping ₹19.39 Lakhs (includes four ITM finishes). He is now the fifth PokerGuru Ambassador to have won Spartan Poker’s The Millionaire this year!
Mithun Mahesh has been in winning form since last Thursday when he took down PokerStars India’s Highroller for ₹2.84 Lakhs and placed runner-up in Spartan Poker’s Trending Thursday for ₹3.13 Lakhs. Last night, Mithun Mahesh locked horns with Praveen ‘hendalson’ Gattani (runner-up for ₹10.26 Lakhs) heads-up in The Millionaire and outmaneuvered the latter to clinch his career-first Millionaire title.
PokerGuru caught up with the man of the hour, and this is what Mahesh had to say: “Sunday was good. I ran pretty good. I played my usual strategy mostly. The final table was fun. The table lineup, stack distribution, everything was in my favor. All I had to do was stay composed, and things worked well for me.”
He dedicated The Millionaire title to his coach and mentor, stating, “Also, I would like to dedicate this victory to my head coach, Aditya Agarwal, and my mentor, Kartik Ved.”
Vaibhav Sharma (Won PokerBaazi’s IMPS#46 Main Event for ₹4.89 Lakhs), Masroor Ansari (Won Adda52’s Nano Main Event for ₹4.24 Lakhs), Aayush Goyal (Won PokerBaazi’s BSS#4 SuperStack for ₹4.15 Lakhs), Amar Mehta (Won PokerStars India’s Sunday Special Progressive KO for ₹2.60 Lakhs), and Joseph Rochungh Touthang (Won Spartan Poker’s UVS Main Event for ₹1.72 Lakhs), were the other big Sunday winners.
Here are the Sunday highlights!
