Arlie Shaban Receives Herculean Challenge From the Poker Gods

Arlie Shaban is no stranger to challenges, in fact the poker pro even challenged himself to stream for 50 days straight and extended his goal to 1,000 hours, eventually reaching the mark after 125 consecutive days of streaming on the live streaming platform Twitch. After being appointed as the streaming ambassador for Team Run It Up, Shaban has now been challenged by The Poker Gods themselves!

On September 10th, a letter appeared on the PokerStars Blog addressed to Shaban and signed by an anonymous body claiming to be‘The Poker Gods’.

According to the letter, Shaban was issued a challenge titled as the ’12 Labours of Arlie’. Taking inspiration from the Greek mythology of the ’12 Labours of Hercules’, Shaban’s challenge will be of epic proportions. Similar to the Greek demi-god Hercules who was tasked by King Eurystheus of Mycenae to complete 12 impossible labours, Shaban will have to complete 12 challenges, many of which will require more than just streaming or poker skills.

Regarding the tasks, the letter cautions “Some of them will be easy. Some will be difficult. And while some might seem obvious, be warned… some will be so complex you won’t even know where to start.”

The letter explained that the motive behind the challenge is to determine whether Shaban belongs amongst the ranks of the ‘streaming Gods’ or is he is ‘just a mere mortal’.

Shaban received the challenge through a popup message from PokerStars Support while he was in midst of streaming his World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) runs. The message read that he may be due for another challenge and then directed him to the letter from the Poker Gods, which he read aloud on his Twitch channel. Shaban enthusiastically accepted the challenge. “F****** right I wanna do this! Challenge accepted. Bring it on,” he said.

His 12-task journey will be documented on the PokerStars blog and his Twitch channel. Let’s wait and see what The Poker Gods have in store for Shaban!
