Though Fedor Holz continues to lead the Global Poker Index (GPI) and the GPI ‘Player of the Year’ leaderboards, he faces a threat now from Byron Kaverman on the former. Kaverman has had a highly successful first week in August collecting the titles at the Aria High Roller 38 and 39 for collective earnings of almost $500K.

Barring that there is scant movement in the GPI Top 10, including among the Indian-origin Top 300.

Climbers

Byron Kaverman moves up eight spots to No. 3 on the credit of having won two High Rollers events at the Aria for $226,227 and $276,000 on August 5 and 7 respectively.

Dippers

Kaverman’s climb displaces all the players below by a rank, with Nick Petrangelo now at No. 4. Anthony Zinno at No. 5, David Peters at no. 6, Bryn Kenney at No. 7 and Domink Nitsche at No. 8. Thomas Marchese also falls a spot to No. 9 and Steve O’Dwyer is barely hanging on at No. 10. The biggest dipper though, is Adrian Mateos, who falls right off the Top 10 by three places to No. 13.

Indian-Origin Top 300

Mukul Pahuja recovers a spot to reach No. 32. Pahuja recently cashed at the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open, Event 10 for $1,144 at 222nd place.

Meanwhile, Ankush Mandavia falls one place to No. 33.

Kully Sidhu rises by two spots to No. 66.

Vinny Pahuja is down by a huge 17 spots to No. 282.
