Byron Kaverman sustains his lead in both, the Global Poker Index (GPI) rankings and the GPI ‘Player of the Year’ (POY) leaderboard. While, Anthony Zinno remains in second place in the POY, it is Steve O’Dwyer who shows the most progress this week.
O’Dwyer who had fallen off the Top 10 charts last week, does a sharp u-turn and lands at No. 5 this week. The rise can be credited to O’Dwyer’s two cashes at the recently concluded 2015 Asia Championship of Poker (ACOP), which include a fourth place finish in the Super High Roller (SHR) event.
Bryn Kenney also benefits from the ACOP SHR, where he made third place and this gives him a better ranking on the GPI this week.
Barring Vinny Pahuja, who makes a big downward slide this week, most of the Indian-origin players in the GPI Top 300 show marginal changes this past week.
In other major news, Alex Dreyfus reveals a glimpse into what the Global Poker League will look like, with a picture on Twitter.
Steve O’Dwyer is the most significant climber this week, moving eight spots to No. 5. O’Dwyer has cashed twice this past week, at the 2015 ACOP Macau. This includes a fourth place finish in the Super High Roller event for HK $2,666,000 and a 15th place finish in the Main Event for HK $350,000.
Bryn Kenney, who had moved down in rankings last week, now climbs one rank to reach No. 6. Kenney has also been busy at the ACOP Super High Roller, where he finished third for HK $3,635,000.
Dan Smith loses his steam and falls two places to No. 7 this week.
