This was an excellent year for live tournaments, and with the year now drawing to a close, this means its back to the drawing board for all the major poker brands to chalk out plans for 2020.

With increasing competition, the race for pulling in the big crowds at popular venues has already begun. Global poker giant PokerStars for one has taken the lead by announcing a line-up of 21 live events for 2020.

From the looks of it, the brand’s schedule of live stops is pre-dominated by European Poker Tour (EPT), but like its previous runs, PokerStars has major stops planned in Asia as well as South America. Through these stops, there are 24 chances for players to get their hands on a coveted Platinum Pass worth $30,000 each to the 2020 PokerStars Players Championship (PSPC) that takes place at the Casino Barcelona in August next year!

The EPT makes stops at Sochi, Monte Carlo, and Barcelona – the latter will also have the PSPC making a comeback this year.

Regional stops like the Brazilian Series of Poker (BSOP) headline the plans for South America while the ‘Road to PSPC’ has stops in France and Spain.

With the decline in Macau, PokerStars is coming up with a packed seven events in Manila and will award two Platinum Passes through these stops.

As always, this is a precursor to the complete schedule, which is likely to include some more additions.
