Online giant PokerStars’ Director of Poker Innovation and Operations, Severin Rasset recently wrote a blog on PokerStars Blog announcing two major changes in the fee structure and prices in many of its multi-table tournaments (MTTs) which will come into effect from Monday.

The changes are mostly linked to the lower-stakes tournaments and are most likely to affect only recreational players and not impact the higher-stakes players.

The first change will be the rake in all MTTs with a buy-in of less than $20 that will see an increase and the second change announced was a decrease in the rake in all the Time Tourneys regardless of the buy-in. The revised prices have however not yet been disclosed.

Rasset also mentioned that similar changes will be reviewed on regular basis saying, “Pricing is a key commercial consideration for every business and we will increasingly use a dynamic pricing model that gives the greatest flexibility to respond to market dynamics. Therefore, we will be reviewing and adjusting our pricing, bonusing and promotions, and our Stars Rewards program on an ongoing basis. The changes we make to our pricing are based upon various factors including customer behavior, commercial and promotional considerations, and the overall long term sustainable health of the ecosystem”.
